My only problem concerns the way that some people have a false mindset that bears no relation to official actuality during those referred-to internet forum discussions.
It's a term used primarily, IMHO, by coaching staff (and then copied by the club's supporters) who are endeavouring to deflect or excuse away criticism of their own players' poor on-field discipline, by instead attempting to suggest some sub-optimal or inconsistent officiating performance by the match referee.

Yeah, bottom on goal difference. We lost away to Brighton, who are playing in Europe this season after a top 6 finish, and away to a side with a squad assembled at 50 times the cost of ours. I believe he did apologise for his ‘inappropriate’ behaviour, but obviously in this day and age an apology isn’t enough.
An apology doesn't solve everything and in some cases doesn't solve anything.
