Surprised that no-one on here has said well done to Luton, so I will.

It'll do the teams confidence good to have a win under their belt, never mind who it was against, or what competition it was in, a win is a win.

So unlike some other team in the Premier League they have a 100% home record.

It' ll be interesting to see how Everton get on tonight @ Doncaster.

Thee will be another Premier League team knocked out tonight as Forest play Burnley.

Hope Luton get a home tie in the draw tonight.

This is a forum largely populated by transport geeks, of course there are going to be niche interests dominating.

Is it "Luton-centric"? Using the search facility I can see that Hyde United and Darlington are each mentioned on at least 3 times as many posts as Luton, as are Liverpool and Newcastle. And I have no plans to read all 1038 pages to find out how many times Manchester United and others are mentioned, but I suspect they will come out higher as well.

They beat Gillingham in the league cup. Good effort lads. Middlesbrough won against Bolton last night in the same competition. Shall we praise them as well?

Luton have done really, really well to get where they are. They seem a well run, sensible club and are a good model for other clubs to follow but they are going to be drowning not waving in the PL. They cant compete. It would be the same for my team if we got to League 2. The financial gap is just too great to be bridged by money ball or team spirit or good coaching.

Although they weren't forced to change thier name or play in a different town like we were Luton and thier fans have been through an awful lot and come out the other side. The FA tried to screw them and they survived. Good on em!

(They also aren't the MK Dongs and it must be urine boiling for the Dongers to see "little" Luton doing so well while they languish. hahaha!)

(PS - it is also great that you get in the away end at Kenilworth Road by going through someones kitchen! )

A have an affection for Luton Town's 1973/4 kit. When I was 11 I was playing for a local team who's kit was orange, and our coach bought a set of replica Luton shirts for us to play in. A was a big step up for the very basic and somewhat tatty kits we were using up until that point.

I bought the Subbuteo team as well. I still have it.

I used to regularly get a retro football shirt (from TOFFS) as a birthday or Xmas gift from the kids. About 12 years ago I opened the wrapped up parcel and it was the same Luton 1974 kit. It was a complete coincience as I never mentioned the Luton kit to any of the family until that day. My wife just thought it was a nice looking shirt.

You should love this season's shirt then, as it pays homage to the 73/74 kit.

I note in this EFL Cup that Premiership clubs, after putting out a team they consider capable of beating lower league sides, immediately call on first teamers to get them out of trouble when it all goes wrong. This, in my opinion, should not be allowed. If they "insult" the lower side by putting out an inferior squad then they should only be allowed similar substitutes, after all, they've got enough players to call on. I know they are obliged to play a certain amount of first-teamers, but if you only call on that few - TOUGH, treat the opposition with respect or suffer the consequences.

Celtic are Champions League. As they won the league and Scotland has a high enough ranking, they get straight through to the group stages without needing to play qualifiers like Rangers.

All out. Larne lost in their Champions League qualifier so dropped into second round qualifying for Europa Conference League.
Glentoran lost in first round of that. Crusaders, Linfield, and Larne then all lost in the second round.

I thought with the number of teams in Europe there were more competitions.

How does the number of qualifying teams in these competitions compare with 60 years ago?
