Matty Pearson giving Luton fans plenty to cheer about last Saturday and plenty to laugh about today!
The "Keighley Cannavaro" now has four goals in his last three appearances, opening the scoring this lunchtime against Blackburn Rovers.
Before the game, I'd have been more than happy with a point... but having raced into a 2-0 lead in the first half hour I was beginning to think we might make it four wins out of four. Unfortunately Blackburn pulled one back at the start of the second half, and then laid siege to the Town goal for the rest of the game. It looked like some great saves from Tomas Vaclik (coupled with poor finishing from Rovers) might lead to an unlikely victory, but just as the board went up on 90 minutes Blackburn forced an equaliser which they definitely deserved.
Feels a bit like a defeat having led for most of the game, but can't be too disappointed with how we've performed in recent games. None of the later results went against us (though I could have done with West Brom not somehow failing to defeat a QPR side in free-fall)... another five or six points from the remaining games should see us safe, fingers crossed.
One sour note was one of the Blackburn players assaulting a ball-boy, I hope the EFL will look into the incident.
