I live in Halifax but I am not a Haliogan The Shay is my local ground so I go on and off, so I want to watch a decent game and if Halifax win, ok, if they don't it doesn't really bother me that much I just enjoy watching a live game.

I have watched enough lower level football so I'm not a football purist, however, what I can say is that under Billy I left a game before FT for the 1st time in my life, in fact they had to open the gates for me I gave up that early!!

It was v Barrow in the 2nd season ( after promotion) it's the worst game of football I have ever seen.

I know that it takes 2 sides to make a game but I don't think I went back that season until he had been sacked.

The three pigeons pub isn't bad though. Looking forward to our game there near the end of January.

Yes I can imagine you enjoyed that day.
I wanted to go and see England play at Man City but my daughter, who has the Shay bug much stronger than me, insisted I took her to Wembley!

Both Lampard and Rooney started with Derby County at Championship level, and both did reasonably well under rather different circumstances. In Lampard's case it was the second job that may have been a step too far, too soon.

There are more obvious examples to use for the 'great player =/= great manager' conundrum: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jaap Stam, Alan Shearer... or if you turn the clock back a little further there's Malcolm Macdonald and George Best.

Can't believe we were so close to the top flight six months ago, now we're rooted to the bottom of the table and celebrating a drab 0-0 at managerless Middlesbrough as if it was a cup final win.

we were awful today - total bobbins. I don't mind us losing but Kings Lynn didn't even have to work to take 3 points. awful. We looked like a team bottom of the league.

@youngiecj Leesley cam on after 40 minutes. Didn't have much impact or really any opportunity to impact! Looks a bit chunky and carrying a bit of timber.

Oh and i am just home now at 2220! ffs. Why do we bother.

An expected gritty match with Hyde scoring the only goal of the game in the first half. Their now-ended run in the FA Cup qualifying rounds meant they have played a few league games less than those sides above them and whilst they are four points behind the team currently top, they have either three or four games in hand of the sides currently above them in the league.

If Leeds bin off Marsch, then that will be two managerial departures we've been involved with in the past four days.

A great win we (Leicester) had at Wolves yesterday (4-0), we are showing much improvement now with 3 out of last 4 games won and out the bottom 3. Puts us in a good position for Saturday against Man City which I'd love to see us win!!

Great result for Forest at the weekend, always an extra frisson when beating Liverpool. Finally starting to look like a team rather than a collection of individuals. Much talk of a corner being turned but too early to say that as far as I am concerned. I enjoyed the game and am still on something of a high but I won’t be counting any chickens for a while yet!

It was tight but he was offside, he was ahead of the ball and the last defender when Royal headed it. The fact that the header initially went backwards is a red herring, there’s nothing in the laws saying you can’t be offside if the ball goes backwards, despite what a lot of pundits say

Kane's knee was just offside under the present interpretation of the off side laws. There lies the issue about the ball going backwards, it has always part of the game if ball goes backwards then can't be offside, been there for many many years but not in the laws of the game, well that is a surprise!

Personally the goal should have stood as a few centimetres will not make any difference. As the law (VAR) stands, the advantage is given to the defending team! The purpose of football is to score goals and should be encourage to do so too.

Kane wasn’t in front of the ball, the lines were an unscientific guess and anyone who thinks that ruling out a 95th minute goal in that manner is good for the game is sorely mistaken. Glad I never watch this charade live. VAR for micro-infringements has ruined the game. 10 years ago that replay gets shown without the lines and everyone thinks it’s a fair goal. In the bin with the lot of it, and everyone who apologises for VAR, which has ruined the game as a sport.
