Not forgetting of course Lowestoft was in the Conference North for several seasons!
Lowestoft is about as far north as Coventry. Kings Lynn is about level with Birmingham.

Does it beat this situation in Perth though? Both Letham and Jeanfield Swifts play in Perth at Tier 6 but in different leagues. Letham play in the Midland League so would be promoted to the Highland League if they won promotion, whilst Jeanfield Swifts play in the East of Scotland Premier Division where they would be promoted to the Lowland League if they won promotion. To add to the uniqueness of the situation Jeanfield Swifts’ ground is actually slightly further north in its location in Perth than Letham’s as well.

Liverpool playing crazy again! Awful first half 2-0 down and deservedly so against Villareal - which brought the tie level. Half Time a Klopp tak, Diaz for Jota and won on the night 3-2 - 5-2 for the tie! Also, could have scored far more second half! So, Man City or Real Madrid in the final! Tasty whoever we get!

As they have virtually won the Spanish league they can afford to rest some of their key players before the final, whereas Liverpud don't have that luxury knowing they have to keep up the pressure.

You do have to wonder if this is it for Guardiola. City have choked yet again, and I don't see Pep changing anything in this respect.
Ridiculous that Real Madrid have done this after losing to Sheriff Tiraspol earlier in the season though!

Both Brackley and Gloucester are in the north and may well remain so for next season. Brackley suits me. just down the road
The point remains that these clubs simply should not be in the northern section and that travel costs to/from these grounds is a big part of our spend outside of wages. Brackley, Kettering, Leamington, Hereford, Gloucester, Telford & Kidderminster are not Northern teams.I know part of the issue is the Northern league "home in time for tea" mentality which meant that progress up the pyramid was not always prioritised but the current situation of Blyth v Brackley, Spendymore v Hereford or Darlington v Gloucester is just bonkers.
I also think that the southern section is an easier ride. The quality ( that I have seen) doesn't seem as high as our league, there are fewer ex league clubs, fewer coined up clubs and I suspect fewer full time sides putting out fewer full time pro's.
My solution would simply be to promote Darlo back to league 2 and have done with it

One solution could be to split the 6th tier into three instead of two, so you have National League North; Midlands; and South. Each with say 16-18 teams. 4 teams relegated from National League, with the champions of the three regional leagues being promoted. Each league then also has a play-off in the same format as now. The winners of each regional play-off then enter a "round robin" mini tournament at a neutral venue, with the best performing team taking the final promotion spot.Both Brackley and Gloucester are in the north and may well remain so for next season. Second leg still to come next Saturday, but quite a mountain for 'The Blue Brazil' to overcome - oops @gnolife beat me to it.
And of course Fort William bowed out of the Highland League after 37 seasons, having withdrawn from the playoff which they were unlikely to win.
I must be one of the few who have seen them play twice but never seen them lose - both drawn!

Got to feel sorry for those Northampton fans who travelled all the way to Barrow. 3 up at one stage, cruising, then concede one as The Gas score seven against Scunny to pip them for promotion. What a goddam awful trip home !

Farsley Celtic 0 Boston 2. Well, they surprised me. With Kettering only drawing we made the playoffs. Can’t see us winning it but least we have a crack. Kidderminster away first up, sadly I’m in Porto so won’t make it.

Might have relegated Farsley Celtic from National League North if local rivals Guiseley, who needed to win, hadn't succumbed to two late, late goals at Alfreton having been 1-0 up for most of the second half.

It was quite surreal listening to it on the radio. I believe at one point Telford was also going to be relegated!

The end of the regular Championship season seemed a bit less dramatic than previous years, with promotion and relegation all decided before the final round of games... but Hull City v. Nottingham Forest manged to provide a bit of late drama with both sides scoring in stoppage time. A sequence of events which saw Forest seemingly claim third place before Hull pegged them back allowing Huddersfield (whose game against Bristol City had already concluded) to claim 3rd place.
This means that Huddersfield will face Luton in the semi-final, with the second leg being at the John Smiths. Forest will face Sheffield United with home advantage in the second leg. Luton is maybe an easier game on paper, but they're not in the play-offs by accident so I'm certainly not treating it as a foregone conclusion. Slightly miffed that our games are on Friday and Monday rather than Saturday and Tuesday, but that's a minor annoyance really.
Unlike many I didn't predict we'd be relegated this season, but I certainly didn't predict that we'd be anywhere near the top six. The job Corberan has done is astounding given how poorly we ended last season. The worry is that if we don't go up via the play-offs, we may struggle to hold on to both Corberan and some of our more promising players. The fate of Barnsley this season is a cautionary tale.

All v good points. All four clubs in the playoffs are good away days, so happy with that as well. Just a shame that Forest couldn't do the job against Bournemouth so that herbert Parker ended up in the playoffs instead.
We're (Fulham) doing our annual yo-yo with Norwich. Fully expect to be bottom of the Prem by Christmas!

To be honest part of me was a bit worried once we were certain of finishing no lower than 4th, because despite winning four play-off competitions we have NEVER won the home leg of a semi-final... so it doesn't seem like much of an advantage!

We won our end of season dead rubber 2-1 at St Andrews yesterday. Beyond disappointing to only finish 8th after the first 26 games or so of the season but that's the Tony Mowbray February collapse for you. Big summer coming up for us, plenty of managerial names being linked with us; some good, some not so good. Expecting mid-table mediocrity next season, and probably for the forseeable.

Kidderminster 1 v Darlo 0. End of season clash. Darlo had one shot on target in the 74 minute. Some players barely broke sweat. Should have stayed on the steam train all day.

Wee shout out for my club Airdrie, 3-1 down to Montrose with 20 minutes to go on the day (4-1 on aggregate) in the playoff semi finals. Didn't give in and it finished 6-4 aet
