Could Russia win their own World Cup now ?

It's up for grabs , any of the six remaining could win it.

In my view The Republic of France are now favourites - but England are not completely out of the picture.

Forget World Cup 2018 - it's now Euro 2018 :E

What a great game. I think it would’ve been a different outcome if Brazil had been given that penalty (which they probably should’ve).
France v Belgium is going to be very interesting.

Last team to beat a side managed by Roberto Martinez?

Sunderland...managed by Sam Allardyce!

Could England be the next team to beat them? Nearly managed at this tournament by Sam Allardyce!

Tonight's game said a lot about English football. More than half of the Belgian starting XI play in the Premier League. As do all but one of the England team...

So, England wanted to finish second in the group stages in order that they didn't have the possibility of meeting Brazil in the quarter final, and Belgium have now proved that they were beatable. Loads of talk of schadenfreude after Germany's exit: perhaps Sweden will now dish some out to us for being so presumptious.

I don't think anybody is being presumptuous, anybody who has been watching England for years will be fully aware that it could all go horribly wrong tomorrow.

I'm hearing a lot of presumptions now, even from people who should know a lot better. Far better that nobody (publically) gave us much of a chance before the tournament, even though we were (arguably) in the easiest group in order to advance to the next stage. Now I hear pundits asking who we're going to meet in the final!!

I don't hear any of this, most people are looking no further than tomorrow.

I see a manager focused on tomorrow and tomorrow only. It makes no difference what the pundits are talking about.

Has anybody else noticed the distinct lack of England flags on cars? Just the odd one or two yet there were loads in previous tournaments. I've got mine on the car, I just hope they are still on there tomorrow!

In the club game, maybe. But Martinez lost his first game in charge of Belgium against Spain 2-0.

More likely now as De Bruyne finishes a brilliant Belgian move!

Took Martinez long enougth to work out where to play De Bruyne! I have said since the start the Belgium manager holds back the quality in the team through his tactics. Yesterday he let them loose! I may have to reassess my rating of Martinez.

Lukaku was superb. His movement, pace and strength was simply too much for Brazil

Hazard was my man of the match. In the last ten minutes he got hold of the ball and ran with it until he was fouled about five times, his to relieve pressure. He was immense. Belgium will be a very interesting prospect against France in the semi.

hazard was very clever in that period. Took fouls when he wanted and bought some time. That should be a good game in that semi.

France are very fast but so are Belgium. Something will have to give. Head says France to win, on paper - but my heart thinks Belgium are hitting form at the right time.

Was it the head or the heart that said Brazil for yesterday's match? :P

Is there a real danger of World War III breaking out if England ends up facing France in the final?

No, we’re waiting for you guys to start the third one having turned up late for the last two.
