After what I've seen in this mornings news I just can't get my mind around anything else at the moment, but feel free to carry on with your obsession about JT if you wish.

Stop defending JT; the other Chelsea fan upthread thought it was wiser for him not to. Terry is a racist, a cheat, and a vain, insulting thug and embodies none of the values of a professional sportsman. A large part of the negative publicity surrounding Chelsea is because Terry was there and he was Chelsea's figurehead player. Celebrate his footballing success if you will but don't try and defend John Terry's character because you will always fail at doing so, and in the process you risk condoning what he did.
Some of us care a lot about the integrity of the sport and are glad to see him go. There are many better role models at Chelsea than John Terry, the man who organised his own guard of honour.

And he has had the decency to go without a "handout" unlike a lot of other high profile failures.
I dare say the club struck a deal with them, his incompetence has cost them about £60M by getting relegated (that's what's estimated Newcastle United lost for being relegated last season) and there's the small matter that they're nearly £200M in debt

Probably, given that Mr Terry was one of the people in a bar immediately after 9/11 drunkenly abusing Americans who were grieving their loss.

Sunderland have been clinging on for years now. The last time they finished in the top half of the Premier League table was 2001, when they finished 7th. I don't think Moyes did a good job but he certainly didn't do a terrible one.
Like Villa before them, if you spend every year finishing 16th and 17th, eventually your luck is gonna run out.
Sunderland look shattered as a club. Their meek and subservient relegation doesn't bode well for the future. The Championship is an incredibly tough league to get out of.

The 9/11 incident has already been mentioned so I'm not quite sure why you needed to mention it again and of course it was more than 15 years ago.
The club dealt with the matter and in no way tried to excuse such appalling behavior.
Actually I can't disagree with you there, I always thought that the old European Cup was fine as it was, but then money took over:cry:!

They finished 10th in 2010/11.
This year they didn't have any guaranteed points from us (since we were away winning the Championship)
Talking about Ally McCoist being Moyes' successor on Look North last night, I nearly wet myself laughing.
The Garry Monk exercised his contract extension later
Then Allardyce rumours started and the mackems were wetting themselves thinking he was coming back, then he announced his retirement to kill that one off too.
I will be surprised if they return to the premier league anytime in the next 5 years
