The unbeaten run since Steve Bruce took over as manager continues.

I am being cautious here as previously the moment Villa seem to be doing well, it all starts to fall apart.

Over the previous seasons, Villa have seemed to be good at developing consistency in being inconsistent, and in turn being inconsistent at being consistent that has seemed to be the downfall.

From a pragmatic perspective, I would be happy come the end of the season that Steve Bruce has finally managed to stop the rot that had set in a while ago.

Are you referring to the Premiership trophy, as that was not formed until 1992 and Blackburn Rovers were winners in the 1994-1995 season.---

The trophy itself has been replaced, though I was using it as a metaphor for actually winning the league. Contrary to popular belief football wasn't invented in 1992!

The memo doesn't really matter what we call it, we all know what is meant.

For the first season it was called the Premier League.
Between 1993 and 2007 it was called the Premiership.
Since 2007 it's been the Premier League.

It seems that some people (including managers and players) didn't get the memo in 2007 and have continued calling it the old name.

In any case, I still prefer to call the divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4- though having to explain myself each time rather diminishes my point of principle!

Not too far way in the East Midlands region, Nottingham Forest managed to do it in 1979 after winning the top flight division the previous year.

Well after York's unacceptable 4-1 defeat at home to Lincoln on Tuesday (Despite being home I headed to my more local team of Tadcaster Albion, a team who literally never lose but I've seen them lose 8 of the last 10 times I've seen them) we take on Bromley away tomorrow. We haven't won away in more than a year but not missing a chance to see York in my new home of London. We've won 2 of the last 30 I've seen us play so goin gto need all fingers crossed!

Oldham match against Peterborough was call off today due to frozen pitch, interestingly both our and Peterborough staff believe pitch was playable to play but ref disagree and call the match off, Latics even confirm that pitch was playable at 10am this morning so surprise match got call off today.

Winchester City's exploits in the FA Trophy came to an end against their South London opponents. The visitors took the lead in the first half, after a power cut just before the game had made it look as though it would have to be abandoned in the second half; the power went back on just as the half time whistle blew. Really depressing times at the club, only 448 days since our last league away win but 263 fans made the 450 mile round trip. Even if we do go down we might not have a club next season to support, the club really can't afford successive relegations
