I think a lot of fans in the UK put club before Country these days, Internationals are almost a sideshow.

Whether this is down to lack of success by the home nations I don't know.

I can only speak for myself, but I feel more pride supporting my club team than I do the national side. In part that's down to the jingoistic nonsense that the press bring out every tournament, but also the behaviour of England "supporters" when overseas.

You read the Man Utd fans slagging off the Liverpool players, how terrible they are etc even if they have the best performance ever. Same with all rivalries, fans wont get behind rivals of their clubs.

It isnt unity England players lack but talent and skill and, i suggest, a desire to even try sometimes.

A bit harsh I think, whilst a lot of the players on offer aren't truly world class, England still have their fair share of decent players. If we go back about a decade England arguably had three of the best defenders in the world in Ferdinand, Terry and the monumentally underrated Ashley Cole, two of the best midfielders in the world in Gerrard and Lampard (who granted couldn't really play together), a fantastic captain in Beckham and an actually decent, scoring Wayne Rooney up top, yet still had the same problems and same distinct lack of progress or success.

Yep, I have to say your fans were brilliant today by the way. I didn't see the stats until after I commented and it doesn't look very even I agree, but we had the ball without not doing much. Maybe I'm wrong, obviously I'm biased towards us, just felt tighter than it looks.
