Slightly O/T but after UEFA opened an investigation into Celtic for having Palestine flags in the ground against Hapoel Be'er Sheva last week a group of Celtic fans started a campaign called Match The Fine For Palestine where it was hoped that whatever UEFA may fine Celtic they would raise the same amount and donate to Palestinian charities.

It has went viral and in 36 hours they have already raised over £70k.

League Cup Second round

Preston 2-0 Oldham

Sadly no cup upset as Deepdale (which will please lankyline) sounds like we played ok but like rest of games so far we didn't created much in final third.

I see Gillingham and Northampton were only cup upset in league cup second round so far as both of them knock out Premiership side.

Sadly Droylsden couldn't join Hyde in FA Cup Preliminary Round two as they lost 2-1 to Radcliffe tonight.

I would like to point out that Salford finished 3rd in the Evo Stick Premier last season. Darlington (Champions) finished 14 points ahead of them and they finished 9 points adrift of Blyth. We beat them. Twice. We even gave them a start in both games.

I thought I best tell you this as i doubt the documentary will.

Indeed so. Last season, both Salford City and Hyde United were in the same league, with Salford City being promoted and Hyde United being relegated.

Yet when it came to the league match on the ground of Salford City, the scoreline was...
Salford City 0...Hyde United 1.....

Out of courtesy to you, I shall make no mention of either of the results of the league match and of the FA Cup match between Darlington and Hyde United that were both "home" matches for Darlington.

Couldn't abide the BBC's sycophantic obsession with them last year, I seem to recall they broadcast them at every opportunity they actually could during the FA Cup last year. They're a team being bankrolled and masterminded by five (six?) multimillionaires with about a century's experience of top level football between them. Would have been much better for focusing on either a number of run of the mill non-league teams to see what it's really like with all the hardships at that level, or focus on fallen legends trying their best to get back to the big time (see Darlington, Hereford, Boston etc). No doubt when the Proper rounds of the FA Cup return we can expect to see not a decent Football League tie or some minnows playing the biggest game of their existence against Bolton Wanderers or Sheffield United, but Salford City against Eastleigh. Terrific.

Manish was never the problem with the BBCs coverage, more the focus on the so-called big teams and the subsequent rushing through any games not involving Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday or Wolves. Being on so late didn't help either and that's just about the only thing 5 have got right... Just a shame every ad-break means trails for the rest of their output which seems to mostly be shows mocking their main audience :roll:

Manish is definitely an improvement on Mark Chapman on MOTD2, who seemed incapable of asking a question that wasn't mocking his interviewee.

Please god no, Claridge is a complete arse, about as much use as a chocolate teapot:roll:

I agree, but compared to Adam Virgo I'd say Claridge is the next Alan Hansen!

Bristol City seem to have splashed the cash this summer, and so far it looks like they've done well out of it, having just signed Jamie Paterson from Forest too. Meanwhile though:
