My initial reaction to this comment was to say I agree. I even heard that Conte is apparently known as the Italian Mourinho. But given that Jose's legacy from his second spell was unloading such "unsuitable" talents as De Bruyne, Lukaku and Mata I'm not so sure that description is necessarily a compliment!

Lukaku was poor last night and although he's done quite well at Everton I'm not sure he's ever going to make it at the highest level, Mata is a luxury player who hasn't done much at Man Utd (will Jose sell him again?) although getting rid of De Bruyne was questionable.

On the matter of de Bruyne leaving Chelsea, I suppose a comparison could be drawn to Pogba (who left Manchester United for "loose change"). Both these two players have really developed their skills since those happenings.

Russia have been given a suspended disqualification from Euro 2016, basically anymore trouble and they're out. If it is carried out surely they should also lose the 2018 World Cup?

There is a world cup this year as well...?

Must have missed the build up to that one

Most likely Russia will be fined £10 and UEFA will come up with some random charge and fine the English FA a lot more

Oh dear, your crystal ball was not working very well, was it?

I am not sure of the current exchange rate of the euro to the pound, but I feel that 150,000 euros equates to a higher sum of the £10 stated in your posting. The UEFA hearing was held today, only a very short time after the incidents.

Where did you receive your information about the fine that you stated would be imposed upon the English FA, as I cannot still trace any charges being made as yet against the English FA.

As of 13:26 today, it is 1 Euro to 0.80 British Pounds

On that rate, it is £119,258.25p

Looks like somebody trying to fix a puncture :o

I know... However, if you look at the tweet, its being sarcastic towards the view that all the trouble is caused by English and Irish fans

End-to-end stuff in St Etienne! It's currently 1-1 between Portugal and Iceland (who make their debut in an international tournament).

Ricardo Quaresma has just come on for Joao Mario.

superb result for Iclenad. Always nice to see that posturing show pony Ronaldo brought down to earth.

Indeed - the ego has not landed. A cracking goal for Iceland, and luckily a rock-solid wall too.

I normally wouldn't comment on this, but that's an amazing typo... :D

...I'm calling them that from now on. #Iclenad

He didn't take it very well. :D

Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo hit out at Iceland's lack of ambition after the two sides drew 1-1 at Euro 2016.

The Real Madrid star also refused to shake the hands of the Iceland players after the group match in Saint-Etienne.

"I thought they'd won the Euros the way they celebrated at the end," he said.

"It was unbelievable. We tried hard to win the game and Iceland didn't try anything. This, in my opinion, shows a small mentality and they are not going to do anything in the competition."

Ronaldo, making his 127th appearance for Portugal, said it had been a "lucky night" for his opponents and accused them of putting "the bus in the net".

Portugal had 72% of the possession and 26 shots on goal to Iceland's four.

"Portugal try to play football and try to win the game," said Ronaldo.

"Iceland didn't try anything. They were just defend, defend, defend and playing on the counter-attack."

I wonder if he can be charged for that - I recall somebody was fined a small amount for not shaking hands

Premier League Fixtures are out...

Leicester, Hull welcomes you with open arms and a box of tissues to wipe your sorrows away

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/fixtures

haha, we won't take the whole box, as we'll only need the one, to wipe away a joyful tear, as we are sure, you'll be needing the rest of them yourselves, come the end of the season...

Looking at the broader picture, I am sure that the residents of the French places affected by Euro 2016 situations of disorder will wonder why the summer of 2016 brought numbers of football hooligans, some ice-cold sober with mayhem in mind and those who seem not to have understood the reason why alcohol lowers the ability to behave normally, have been visited upon them by a sporting body who constantly make claim that the greater good of football is all that counts.

Manchester had a "visitation" of an extremely large number of Glasgow Rangers supporters, many ticketless, for the 2008 UEFA Cup Final there between Rangers and Zenit St Petersburg and the havoc wreaked on the city centre and its resident population by a very large number of Rangers supporters was very serious indeed.

We've had some good footy today, the Romania- Switzerland match was alright but I particularly enjoyed the Slovakia- Russia match. The second Slovak goal was smashing.
