Yet as predictable as the 2minute delay on my train from Wakey Westgate to Leeds. Also the reason why 99% of football fans were rooting for Barnsley today.

I believe so - certainly going to be some FBO's sent out in a few weeks - including that idiot that turned up in a shirt that mocked the dead at Hillsborough

In the England v Australia match, I thought the midfield play of Australia was far more effective than that of England. Am I wrong in thinking that England do not have naturally creative midfield players at present who can dominate an international match by their presence?

Certainly...
Up in Yorkshire, a lot of people use the word in place of others to mean something did not take place or happen.
eg; "There was supposed to be a special running between Manchester and York, but was there buggery!"

A slightly less offensive synonym would be "heck as like" eg: "Leeds Fans reckon they're Champions of Europe, are they heck as like!".
As I was walking around a shop in Bristol looking for a birthday pressie for my son, I heard an advert played over the shop's PA system. The deal was, buy XXX before the start of the euro competition and if England win the title, you get your money back.
I couldn't help but smile. A pretty safe bet on their behalf I thought.

Definitely the latter. We seem to have a lot of good players who don't fit together or play out of position trying to ensure teachers favourite gets in.
Rooney was supposed to be the tip of the diamond, but kept pushing far forward forcing Kane and vardy wide which wipes out our biggest goal scoring threats.
To be fair on reflection we did have a fair few good attacks, but the final ball came short due to not being on the same wavelength or out of position players,
Maybe the tactic is to bore the opposition to sleep, and then sneak goals whilst they're snoozing.
If England win the tournament playing boring football nobody will mind, and let's be fair we keep winning games now, but the collapse is due,

I watched the England game for a while, but to be honest I was pleased when Mrs Greenback wanted to turn it over to Peaky Blinders...
Even Clive Tyldesley seemed bored, and desperate to try and convince everyone that it was an interesting match. Did he see sense and give up later in the game?
