Nonsense. Has he not given them more than enough already, regardless of whether he signs or not?

It's probably going to depend on what this different 'role' is that has been offered.

Amusingly in Kent, money-rich Ebbsfleet failed again to get into the Conference National losing on penalties to Maidstone.
In the Northern division North Ferriby beat another heavily bankrolled team in Fylde.

The Ebbsfleet v Maidstone match was rather notable, in that both Ebbsfleet's goals were penalties scored by Danny Kedwell. The player that had the decisive penalty in the shoot-out saved, giving Maidstone the win, was Danny Kedwell.

It is however if he declines it, CFC will come out of it, better. All this, poor JT, what a legend, blah blah. My point is, he 'probably' values his bank balance over club loyalty perhaps....but granted, it'll be his choice.

Over 700 appearances in nearly 18 years at Chelsea but he probably values his bank balance over loyalty?

And then he probably hasn't given enough because he got sent off last week?

yep - so he wont go to China or America on a big bucks deal, you don't think? Where he'd be better suited, given his age, to bow out of the EPL now..didnt do Lampard or Drogba any harm did it..18 years - wow. How much has that cost i wonder? Was it the weekly wage that has kept him there, or the want to play for CFC? It matters not, he has served his club. I'd just be interested in seeing what 'Mr Chelsea', decides to do....

How can you seriously question the loyalty of a player who has been at the club for 18 years?

I think having dug yourself into a hole it might be an idea to stop digging?:roll:

Quite a dramatic game by all accounts with Maidstone equalising in stoppage time in extra time!

I think a lot of people went off him big style when he said he always parked in the disabled bay because he could easily pay the fine.

I can't claim to like him either. This is one of the main reasons why.

John Terry banned and fined by FA over Anton Ferdinand incident

Chelsea captain John Terry has been banned for four matches and fined £220,000 for racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.

The Football Association found Terry guilty following a four-day hearing.

A spokesman for Terry said the player was "disappointed" the FA had reached a "different conclusion" to the "not guilty verdict of a court of law".

In July, the ex-England skipper, 31, was cleared by Westminster Magistrates' Court of racially abusing Ferdinand.

The Terry statement continued: "He has asked for the detailed written reasons of the decision and will consider them carefully before deciding whether to lodge an appeal."

Analysis:
"Unlike in Terry's court case, the prosecution never had to prove intent, merely that certain words were used, so this verdict was no surprise.

"However, the punishment raises issues. Why a ban half as severe as that handed out to Luis Suarez? Why a fine that equates to just one week's wages? Will Chelsea punish their captain? And will the Ferdinands be satisfied?

"This bitter dispute has always been about more than what one footballer said to another. It shone a spotlight on the game, and the way it deals with discrimination.

"Terry left Wembley in disgrace and is likely to appeal. But regardless, the saga has done lasting damage - both to the his reputation and also the to football itself."

The verdict released by the FA said: "The Football Association charged Mr Terry on Friday 27 July 2012 with using abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards Queens Park Rangers' Anton Ferdinand and which included a reference to colour and/or race contrary to FA Rule E3 [2] in relation to the Queens Park Rangers FC versus Chelsea FC fixture at Loftus Road on 23 October 2011."

Terry will have 14 days from receiving the written reasons to decide whether to lodge an appeal. The ban and fine will not come into effect until after the centre-half has decided what to do.

A statement from his club added: "Chelsea Football Club notes and respects today's decision by the Football Association regarding John Terry.

"We also recognise that John has the right to appeal that decision. It is therefore inappropriate for us to comment further on the matter at this time."

Terry admitted using the word "black" and swearing at Ferdinand but insisted he had only been repeating words he thought the Rangers defender had accused him of saying.

The Ferdinand issue has been done ad nauseam and the fact is that JT was cleared in a court of law. JT did also offer his condolences to Rio Ferdinand over the death of his wife but there appears to have been no acknowledgement from Rio F.

Anyway none of this is relevant to JT's new contract.

My beloved Derby County were a shambolic mess today. As a London based Ram I spend a fortune watching my beloved team play every season (my choice of course) and I had my hopes and dreams beaten out of me a long time a go. However today they were simply awful, even by Derby County standards.

I wonder what this does for the state of the league. Presumably it'll have to be replayed but Manchester United (not United like the media darlings would like you to think) are playing in the FA cup final next week
