In this second leg of the semi-final, Everton extended their 2-1 first leg lead when Ross Barkley scored in the 17th minute but three unanswered goals from Manchester City (the last two coming in the 70th and 76th minute) saw them win by the aggregate score of 4-3, to set up what surely will be a sell-out final against Liverpool.

What will be worrying for Manchester City was that Kevin de Bruyne, who scored the second goal, was later carried off with his leg in a cast. He has had a very good season so far.

We play Shrewsbury on Tuesday night and we have to beat them or we could found ourself nine points off 20th team Chesterfield. (that if Blackpool get win against Sheff Utd)

Good to hear a comment like that because I went to the game & took my kids, as Evertonians without Scouse accents it's absolutely shocking to hear opinions from city fans & police about us, couldnt care less about city fans opinions but when the police have the same 'scouse B..s' view it gets worrying.
Total mayhem after the game, we were all herded into the carpark & the usual shenanigans between supporters went on but the police decided that the city lot (who do it every single week there in the corner) didnt need policing but we warranted something akin to the miners strike.
Having a copper waving a baton at you screaming get on your effin coach when you firstly are with your kids and secondly didnt come on one & are stuck in a closed car park unable to leave is a bit hairy to say the least.

weird thing was coppers at 1st gave you attitude then when didnt hear a scouse accent changed it completely.

I thought Hyde was worse non league team but I think New Mills have change that.

New Mills, who play in the eighth-tier Northern Premier League Division One North, had lost all of their league and cup games this season.

I was shock that Oldham finally won a match since mid of November.

Massive win that for Oldham and hopefully it start of them moving up table, no game for Oldham on Saturday (Peterborough fancy to play West Brom then home match against us) but our next game is against Blackpool which again is massive game and if Oldham win that then I may start feeling Oldham will avoid drop to League two.

Sheridan took a few weeks to get a win at Argyle and Newport. Both were bottom of the league when he took over, pulled both clear of relegation zone. Oldham should be ok.

I just knew that these last few days with matches against superior opposition would reveal all the shortcomings that are now endemic at Hyde United. The 4-0 home defeat by high-flyers Workington earlier in the week was another heavy defeat to bear.

Hyde now down to 16th place in the league....with an ever-growing goals differential.

Let's get the spirit of the seventies back when 48,000 flocked to Villa Park in the old Third Division to watch Villa beat Bournemouth remain top of the table and be promoted at the end of the season.

These guys were probably on £100 week if they were lucky.

If Villa accept they are going to be relegated why don't they terminate the contracts of the 1st team and just put out the Youth Team. Let's face it at least some of them will have some hunger and desire to succeed.

By terminate I presume you mean pay off the remainder of their contracts because that what they would have to do, frustrating as it is Footballers can constantly underachieve or even just turn up for training and go through the motions without getting anywhere near the team & earn millions.

I will always be a Villa fan and will always go to games but I do so with less and less emotional attachment every season. It's just not the same anymore. In fact a few weeks ago, the first weekend of this year, I was more disappointed in the New York Jets loss and elimination from NFL play-off contention than I was in Villa's loss at Sunderland.
Sad but a Villa loss is kind of expected these days!

I am not sure they have the money - although the chairman will no doubt be putting in a large amount of his own money again. They paid £6m for Downing earlier in the season

The extra seats filled going for a promotion push should help them. Its probably been borrowed on promotion but if they dont get it he'll be off for similar money so not all that bad a deal.
