Our fourth consecutive league defeat. It is hard now to believe that we were in fourth place earlier in the season and winning away at teams like Salford City and Darlington.

I am not looking forward to the visit of Blyth Spartans this coming Saturday..

Not at all, I remember when Villa had class.

Andy Gray, Peter Withe, Tony Morley, Dennis Mortimer, Paul McGrath , Brian Little, Allan Evans, Gary Shaw, Gordon Cowans , Jummy Rimmer etc.

When they won the European Cup the whole team including the subs were British.

I was talking to my Villa mates and if I was a Villa fan (which I most certainly am not ), I'd be worried about successive relegations the way things are going. Some of the team (like Gabby) may be better suited to the Championship if they stay with Villa

we could do with you turning Bylth over Darlo came from Behind to beat Buxton 3-1 although we didn't really start playing until we went a goal behind! The number of games we have to play before the end of the season will kill our chances of promotion I fear.

We have a big game coming up with Salford at their ground and it has been made all ticket with Darlo only getting 250 tickets. We have 750 season ticket holders. No chance of a ticket for that one then! I would say limit them to the same for the return game but they ill only need 27 with all the TV production people coming along.............

Your optimism is impressive but I think it really depends on what happens with the ownership of the club. We (Birmingham City) went through similar circumstances many years ago with the Kumars and things only turned around when the Golds, Sullivan and Brady came in. Feels like we're almost back to square 1 with the current ownership and we almost dropped down to League 1 avoiding relegation by goal difference but it definitely helped getting rid of Clarke

With Villa, it would also depend on how much the team changes before the Championship season starts, and whether the owners let the manager rebuild for the future. So much depends on the preparation

With regards to expectations that the post-Christmas second half of the season amongst some so-called "pundits" in the media that Leicester would begin to stutter results-wise, I was interested to hear the comments of Alan Shearer drawing a comparison to the period when he was a striker with Blackburn Rovers in the season that Blackburn Rovers actually won the Premiership.

Jamie Vardy has now signed a new three-year contract with Leicester City, saying that the club has been totally supportive since his signing from Fleetwood.

I never feel sorry for millionaire football managers having the sack but his departure was largely down to his son's escapades in Thailand so I do have some sympathy.

I'd have Pearson at the Wolves tommorrow but sadly that won't happen.

Today I was talking with someone who was involved with football professionally up until a few years ago and still has many contacts within the game. He told me it's pretty much common knowledge in this area that Pearson will be the next Villa manager should Remi walk out. I shuddered! Then I buried my head in the sand like an ostrich

This match was switched to New Broomfield stadium in Airdrie for this match. It should be noted that East Kilbride are in the Lowland League.

Memphis Depay, the overpriced Dutch import at Manchester United once again helps to create a goal for the opposition when "coming back to "help" the defence against Chelsea as he recently did in another Premiership match when he totally lacked the power in a back-pass to his goalkeeper which was then very easily seized upon by a member of the opposition.

Mate of mine (Villa fan) said that Villa have a similar amount of points at this point in the season compared to Leicester at the same point last season. Not sure on the validity of that but he's ever the optimist

Managed to see the Toon play on Saturday (and got a ticket for Chelsea away next weekend)and they were great. Living in London, the only match I have got to since October was the 5-1 demolition at Palace. Hopefully the signings made are enough to keep us up.

Villa are a team I detest. My best mate supports them and over time we have begun massive hates for each others clubs. Villa will always say they relegated us but really, we were always going down. Sending Villa down in our final away match would be great but after going to Upton Park on Tuesday night, I saw enough which suggested to me they will stay up. They outpowered the Hammers for the first 20 minutes and then a Villa player (Ayew?) stupidly and I mean stupidly elbowed a Hammer player in the face. What he was thinking I will never know. They WILL stay up, going down will be us/West Brom, Bournemouth and Norwich.
