Slightly off-topic regarding the sport concerned, but most definitely one where a long distance club relocation is involved is the Arriva Premiership rugby union side of London Wasps who have now given their London local supporters the opportunity to "be sent to Coventry" to watch their team play at their new ground at the Ricoh Stadium.

As a supporter of their previous tenants Wycombe Wanderers I understand this move had been on the cards for ages, ever since Steve 'I only care about Rugby than Football' Hayes didn't get his way with a new stadium at Booker Airfield. They also paid hardly any rent (again due to the loan shark) and, imo, all I can say is good riddance.

On a lighter note though, We are league 2 Xmas no 1 and our Xmas fixtures are both tough matches, home to Luton (who are 2nd) on Boxing Day, and away to Shrewsbury (3rd) 2 days later

I knew that a certain forum member would pick me up on this...

Lisburn Distillery FC were just known as Distillery FC until they changed their name in 1999 in an attempt to reflect their relocation of some years earlier, but would I be right in thinking that they play in Ballyskeagh?

I was on my way to Notts Forest at the time.

The decision however was very very poor, no surprise though, it's happening way to often.

Decisions in our game were key as well, we was quite rightly awarded our first penalty of the season when Byram was fouled. Billy Sharp put it away. However, Forest will be furious after they had 2 pefectly good goals ruled out for offside. I couldn't really see the first one but have seen it on tv at home and he was clearly onside. The 2nd one I was bang in line with and it was a shocking decision. Could not believe it when the flag went up.

We've had very little luck this season but I think we've used up all our good luck in one go now. still, take the point

New Hartlepool boss wants to sign Ched Evans

Hartlepool boss Ronnie Moore would like to sign convicted rapist Ched Evans.Evans, 25, was released in October after serving half of a five-year sentence for the rape a 19-year-old woman in a hotel room in 2011.

Moore, who took charge of the Football League's bottom club this week, has confirmed his interest in Wales and ex-Sheffield United striker Evans.

"It's a possibility. If it could happen, I'd want it to," he said after Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Oxford.

"He is a proven scorer; he's served his time and the boy wants to play football."Sheffield United retracted an offer to allow Evans to train with them last month*following strong local opposition, but 61-year-old Moore insists he is willing to offer the forward a route back into football.

"If there is a chance he might come here, I don't see any reason why he shouldn't," he continued.

TV presenter Charlie Webster, 60s pop star Dave Berry and Sheffield businesswoman Lindsay Graham all resigned as patrons of Sheffield United after Evans was invited to return to training, while musician Paul Heaton stood down as a patron of the club's community foundation.

Fair enough, I'll admit cheating is a step too far but I still think had it been the other way around nothing would have been given. Hopefully we'll appeal and get the card overturned before Boxing Day's game

At the end of the day we still get a 1-1 draw with an injury crisis at least as serious as our opponent's which a lot of pundits seem to have forgotten about and against a team with no shortage of cash to spend

After watching some of the antics of the highly-paid Chelsea footballers in their match against Hull City, I wonder if they will be approached by the officials charged with the running of the British diving team as artistic coaching staff?

As a follow-up to this posting, is anyone surprised to hear that "The Special One" does not want to see retrospective bans for diving being introduced in the Premiership?

Bournemouth certainly look good enough to still be up there in May, but anything can happen in this division...
I believe the Cherries are not fully compliant with Financial Fair Play regulations at present, having had an injection of capital from their new owners over the summer. Promotion would ease those worries and give them some freedom to strengthen, though there are examples of what can go wrong (such as Bradford City) that the owners would do well to learn from.

Supporting is player is not the same as supporting a club - what do you do when the player leaves, transfer your allegiance to that team too ? Totally unacceptable in my book.

My real beef is with those who support ManU, Liverpool, Chelsea because they are successful and because they are on TV all the time. Plastic glory hunters the lot of 'em.

Well that isn't true. I support my closest professional team who are geographically Liverpool by a short margin from Tranmere and Everton. My brother who lives in my house is a Bath City fan even though we were born and raised in Liverpool. My real beef is with people who tar everyone with the same brush.

I'm a Chelsea fan and I was one of the 'plastic glory hunters' that made the treck to Rotherham in 1981............we lost 6-0

I thought the red card was a bit soft. I thought the extra time was valid. I thought it was a good game overall.

Borini got the ball, it was a great tackle that he made. However, his reaction, for some referees merited a yellow card. Not all may have given it, but I can see why he did. The Second one for me yes, it was a yellow.

I though Borini really livened things up - compared to another Liverpool striker beginning with 'B', I know who I'd have more time for right now if I was a Liverpool fan.

A few of our signings have put on the odd good show, Markovic as well. Borini is alright, was never going to be world class. Balotelli is a bit of a wet blanket.
