Thats because he used the colour of someones skin to try and either put him down or insult him. Different.

Ill ask you a question though, who decided this was an anti Semitic gesture? The Jewish lobby, thats who. So now do they have the say as to what gestures anyone, no matter what has gone on before, can or can not make without them getting upset? Who gave them the power to decide such things then at the drop of the hat, and in this instance just because the bloke that created the gesture has been convicted before of anti semitism.

Mind you the bloke who owns Zoopla has had more press coverage for his website than he got with his sponsorship or West Brom

I haven't seen the abuse that Collymore received as I don't have Twitter. However, it does seem to be widely discussed that Collymore had been winding several people up for a while before a few bit.

Obviously, any racial abuse or the like is completely unacceptable but surely Collymore should have used his head a bit more. Twitter does tend to attract some unsavoury characters.

Without wanting to be controversial one of the papers yesterday asked a load of pundits and players if Suarez dived against Villa. 2 out of I think 6 or 7 said he did, the two were Guzan and Collymore.

He's the one who has had seriously nasty abuse, so I doubt he can be in any way blamed or accused of bringing such things on himself.

Spot on mate. Wherever there is sh*t to be stirred the press will help and Collymore seams to be on hand. I think it was a soft penalty and it is the second my shower have been lucky enough to be awarded in a short space of time. Villa where possibly the better team for huge swathes of the game.

Sorry folks, can I just clarify that I thought it was the press that was stirring stuff up and not Collymore. He was a great player for Liverpool and also Villa, I am aware that he has taken a lot of abuse over his opinion which is frankly sickening. Many apologies if I worded that badly originally. I would hate to be associated with anyone who has been abusive in the ways I have heard happened, I couldn't face my mates if I was.

It's important that people see that he's been subjected to death threats and some of the most vicious racism. It isn't just from that one account or just a recent thing either, it has actually been going on ever since the Suarez/Evra incident.

Exactly. I don't care if anyone likes him or not, or thought it wasn't a dive, the stuff these people wrote should land some of them in jail.

This isn't the same as joking about blowing up an airport.

Twitter does seem to be quite revealing of just how much hatred there is out there. Perhaps it's time for some sort of hefty fine for those that send abuse (with jail for the worst examples). There's so much of it, there needs to be some fast tracked way to do it too.

Hey folks, I sincerely apologise for mentioning Collymore, I promise you that I had no idea about what he has put up with until this evening and I assure you that the abuse he has suffered is something I find sickening. I couldn't face myself if anyone thought I condoned racism or death threats, football isn't that important, nothing is.

Anyway, Whilst I do not condone death threats or rascist abuse towards anyone I do believe Collymore to be a bit of a hypocrite about this all, I mean this is a man who punched and kicked his girlfriend in the head and indeed threatened to kill her too but now he wants to go on TV and Radio cursing those terrible people who do the same thing to him....


And believe me, his tweets on said site seemed at times to be deliberatly constructed to egg on people out there to come at him..

Many thanks Paul. First permanent job I'll have had since 2008 so I am made up, as long as the company keeps trading then the future is back in my hands. I made an effort to read an article today about what had been posted on the Twitter accounts of Beth Tweddle and Stan Collymore and was pretty disgusted. I'll admit to using Facebook and have found it usefull to stay in touch with many people who are now situated a long way away from me, I avoid Twitter like the plague though. Tell me about it Paul, what a match that was Peterborough deserve they 3-0 lead at half time as we were very rubbish in first half and maybe Peterborough could been 4-0 up too, Two goals in within 8 mins made it 2-3 but stupid defending (again) made it 4-2 to Peterborough which at that point I felt we wouldn't get back into game, then five mins later we score to make it 3-4 with still 20 mins to go and I felt that if we score again maybe we will win the game, then in 88th mins we won penalty thanks to lineman who spotted hand ball on line in which Peterborough player got sent off for it and we score that penalty to make it 4-4 which at that point, I would took draw if it stay like that, then in 95th mins we win a corner, ball came into box fell to Kusunga who smash the ball into net to win the game 5-4.
