Was anyone else surprised Tim Sherwood was appointed Manager of Spurs ?

With regard to Cardiff perhaps Dave Jones will move from Director of Football to Manager

The FA have said they will investigate the post-match comments made by the Liverpool manager, Brendan Rogers, that were made after the match against Manchester City, in case there has been a breach of rule E3 (1) that concerns implied bias by a match official.

Barring the bias comment the rest of what he said was correct and I don't believe the FA can punish for stating what is quite clearly correct comments to the rest of the watching public. In the current times when match fixing is highly prominent and well documented in the media, an official making such a wrong decision as the Sterling offside call where he was 5-6 feet onside is surely going to be questioned and investigated.
I don't think there is much need for the FA to investigate, we all know what Brendan Rodgers said, just issue the relevant punishment.

Referees are not permitted to make public comment, I think it would make things so much better if they explained reasoning, and would cut out a lot of the dissatisfaction with their performances. As a rugby referee we are expected to explain contentious decisions, yet this seems forbidden in Football. Graham Poll has said to the BBC that managers should not be punished for stating their opinion on a referees performance. However he does say they should not imply bias.

Yeah its something directly suggesting that the referee had ulterior motives. Which is a bit naughty to suggest, but not impossible to be true. I personally don't think the ref was biased because he was from Bolton, I think he had a bad game for both teams. I say that as a Liverpool supporter who was at the game.

Lee Mason, biased to City? I can only wish. I suppose every fan thinks the referee is against their team and this is evident when you think a ref has had a particularly bad game for your team and upon checking the opposing teams fans forum they think he was against them, but Mason is one I dread when he comes up. The fact he's from Bolton makes it more likely he is a United or Bolton fan, neither of which have god feelings towards their Manchester neighbour.

It was a bad decision on the offside, I sit directly behind it and thought it was close at best from my limited position. I can say that Liverpool are the real deal though and I'd strongly fancy them for top four at least, City although we played some nice football, were not at our free flowing best, although credit has to go to Liverpool for closing us down and making us work hard for the chances we got. I did think when Liverpool went two up top we'd open them up as we did when Arsenal and Tottenham did the same.

Palace today, let's just hope Pulis keeps his appealing record of bringing teams to the Etihad and I'm looking forward to seeing their fans in action after bringing a mini revival of passionate football support in this country.

I thought it going to be Hyde day when I saw them winning 2-1 but sadly they lost 5-2 to Wrexham, other worse team Droylsden was drawing 0-0 at Half time and that point look like is going to be good point for Droylsden but just like Hyde they lost again losing 4-0 to Stamford and I believe Droylsden had two players sent off too, not bin good 2013 for Tameside clubs.

Indeed, Liverpool's problem is their lack of depth, and over the course of a season that is quite a big problem. The fact that Man City had no Aguero, Yaya Toure or Negrado yesterday and still had an abundance of very good replacements says a lot: imagine taking Suarez, Coutinho and Sturridge out of Liverpool, or Giroud, Ozil and Podolski out of Arsenal... That is ultimately what will decide the title. This year is probably Liverpool's best bet too - unless they buy a lot over summer they'll have to play in Europe next season with the same, thin numbers.

I presume I'm one of the Big Mick 'haters' you refer to. I will happily admit he's a very good Championship manager (as evidenced at Wolves) - he's just horribly out of his depth in the PL - it's an enormous step up.
