Players are always going to dive as long as the reward outweighs the risk. I don't think anyone can argue that a game-changing penalty is worth more than a potential yellow card.

Tonights game is superb. I'm in a little bar in small village near Mayenne, few beers and enjoying Swansea v Liverpool. The bar has wifi, a decent sized tv and is serving Kanterbrau, Leffe and Stella.

Regarding Powell - I think this is a very shrewd move, it is clear that he wasn't going to get much first-team experience at United so for him to go on loan to a club where he'll get regular football of a decent standard.

Another one of the lesser lights is the now 22 year old Federico Macheda who signed for Manchester United way back in 2007 and only featured in the first team starting line-up 15 times, scoring 5 goals. He has had loan periods in Germany and in Italy to the best of my memory. He is now set to go on loan to Doncaster Rovers for a short time period, which may be extended.

Wayne Rooney's goal for Manchester United probably should have been ruled out because Antonio Valencia was in an offside position and interfering with play.

Just thought I would post that now because there will probably be half a dozen posts complaining about it later on, even if the rule about interfering with play is seldom enforced against any team.

this is terrible tv coverage. they keep showing the goals from the other games but in a tiny little box in the xorner of the screen.

the man utd goal looked very dubious to us in the bar. lots of french saying it was offside and valencia I think obstructing the keeper. its old Trafford though so it stands. im not wearing my readers so cant see that tiny box thry keep putting on.

If you're observant you'll notice a great many goals, especially those from set pieces, have an attacking player in an offside position technically interfering with play. They are almost never ruled out.

Actually I'm not sure I can remember the last time I saw a goal being ruled out for an attacking player interfering with play in an offside position.

when did I mention corruption in football? I could barely see the goal without my glasses on on the tiny box they put up on the french coverage. It was quite funny actually because all the French were disgusted by the goal and started blaming me for it!

Yep, at Molineux too. The goalkeeper has also handled the ball outside of the penalty area earning himself a yellow card.

It is now painfully obvious that the playing squad at Hyde are not to the standard required to fully participate at the level required in the Conference Premiership and those players who left the club in the close season were better than those brought in to replace them.

Last season, the score in this fixture was Hyde 7...Woking 0..

I see Stockport lose for fifth time this season after the lost 2-1 to Vauxhall Motors last night but probably only good news from Cheshire teams area last night was Stalybridge beat Harrogate Town 3-2 which mean Stalybridge are up to 13th in table, big game in that area on Saturday as Stalybridge are against Stockport which I sure Stockport will take good crowd to Stalybridge to watch that match.

I see Leyton Orient are still have 100% record this season after they beat Notts County 5-1 last night, only Rangers in Scottish One division can match that are they still have 100% record but Rangers have only played 5 matches this season to where Orient have played 7 matches in League One this season.

Chelsea are losing 2-1 to Basel, I wonder if Chelsea will get knock out of Champion league in first stage like they do last season?

Celtic doing quite well until AC Milan score in 80th and they just score again to make it Milan 2-0 Celtic.

I see there is an interesting early round match of the Scottish Cup due to be played today between Newton Stewart of the South of Scotland Football League who are at home to Fort William of the Highland League.

Will there be a "giantkilling" that so often happens in cup competitions....or will Fort William rise to the occasion and finally lay their Scottish Cup hoodoo to rest..and actually win :roll:

Oldham draw 1-1 to Crewe today which was fair results, we were lucky not to go 2-0 down as Crewe hit post twice in min but we were unlucky not to score as McDonald hit the posts in first half but aleast he score Oldham goal later on.

I'm surprise to see Liverpool lose 1-0 to Southampton and Hull got good win against Newcastle, I see Stockport draw 0-0 to Stalybridge in that big Cheshire derby and Hyde lose again as they lose 1-0 to Welling.

Fort William keep up their tradition of losing Scottish Cup games to teams from a lower standard of the Scottish football pyramid. The final score today being....

Regardless of the lack of consistency by the referee, Trevor Kettle who didn't book Morsey for a similar challenge he sent off Whing for, Oxford were beaten by a very good Chesterfield side. If they keep that form going, everyone else will be battling for second.

Only shame about Chesterfield is that they have Morsey in their side, he was a dirty player at Vale and he doesn't seem to have changed at Chesterfield.
