Regardless of the lack of consistency by the referee, Trevor Kettle who didn't book Morsey for a similar challenge he sent off Whing for, Oxford were beaten by a very good Chesterfield side. If they keep that form going, everyone else will be battling for second.

Only shame about Chesterfield is that they have Morsey in their side, he was a dirty player at Vale and he doesn't seem to have changed at Chesterfield.

They are by far the best team in the league imo. Fleetwood the only possible dangers.

Another one of the lesser lights is the now 22 year old Federico Macheda who signed for Manchester United way back in 2007 and only featured in the first team starting line-up 15 times, scoring 5 goals. He has had loan periods in Germany and in Italy to the best of my memory. He is now set to go on loan to Doncaster Rovers for a short time period, which may be extended.

Further to the above extract from a recent posting that I made, I note that Macheda scored twice for Doncaster Rovers yesterday.

I think that first time for while that I seen Man City play so well, I didn't get why Man Utd only started playing once City when 4-0 up, I wonder if it still finish 4-1 if Van praise wasn't injured and played in that match?

Tottenham won 1-0 against Cardiff which mean that Liverpool who were top of Premiership at 5pm yesterday are now 5th in table, way United have been playing the top 4 as it now could end up like that come May.

It probably would have still be 4-1. Up front wasn't the issue for United today, it was their shambolic defending that cost them.

Absolutely. Kompany is a world class defender and alongside Mats Hummels at Borussia Dortmund is probably the best CB going. Toure is easily one of the best midfielders in the world and I think is the most important cog in the City XI. I remember last season he was injured for a while and they fell to pieces without him.

Whilst I would agree with you about the first year on loan, are there many player loans that go over into a second year then into a third year ?

Jason Puncheon would have had two years on loan to MK Dons from Plymouth if it hadn't been cut short when he was sold to Southampton. Also, Patrick Bamford is in his second season on loan from Chelsea to MK Dons this season although at the moment its only up to January.

And continuing the subject of Chelsea players out on loan, I went to West Ham on Saturday and saw Romelu Lukaku who came on in the second half and turned the game around. Best player I've seen for ages and he's only 20.

RE Llrois: With Benteke and Gabby likely to be rested I fear to see where our goals will come from.

Just to show that "a leopard cannot change its spots", Mario Balotelli was sent off at the end of the A C Milan 2-1 defeat to Napoli for using intimidating and insulting words in his confrontational behaviour towards the referee...he also missed a penalty in the match.

He has been given a three match suspension for this latest misdemeanour.
