the question is though why does it keep happening? 2nd game in a row theyve been clearly offside yet the goal has stood. plus the sending off and penalty stats. its incredible.

In real time both appeared to be in line, so the benefit of the doubt should go with the attacking team.

by the letter of the law every goal was offside. so yeah. strictly speaking it should still be 0-0!

Being a few centimeters offside gives nothing like as clear a benefit. For all three goals today the United players could have been standing a few cm in the other direction without any change to the outcome. So United gained no benefit from being offside.

If you can't be certain a player is offside then it isn't offside. If you can only tell someone is a few cm offside in replays, then you can't give them as offside because in real time from the touch line you could never be certain.

Just like the other day when a Manchester City player was about a meter beyond the last defender and the offside goal was allowed?

Or a few seasons ago when Chelsea beat United in both matches against them and went on to win the league by a single point. Both games were full of refereeing errors.

I think the signings of Rodwell and Sinclair were more for ensuring that Man City had enough home grown players for both the PL and the Champions League. Rodwell though, I think has a big future in the Premier League, regardless if it's Man City or another team challenging for the top 4 spots every season.

With regards to Chelski, was it my imagination, or did Roman Abramovic say that they have to start paying their way now? Hence the profit announced the last time they released figures ....

Rodwell you can understand, fantastic talent but has been very unlucky with injuries. Sinclair on the other hand, been readily available most of the season but has hardly been used at all, thats hardly his fault.

Man City remind me of Chelsea after Abramovich arrived, grabbing everything they could, the situations of Steve Sidwell and Scott Parker are near identical to that of Sinclair.
