Personally I cannot understand why they made such an accusation in the first place, it seems that the only purpose was some form of retaliation for an abysmal performance from the officials which unfairly cost them a big game.
Not that it makes it right of course.
It is quite right that the FA are taking action against the player, more should be done in the real world against people making false accusations though I digress...
Incidentally has Clattenburg faced any action over his match performance?
Anyway, regarding last nights exit from the Champions League. Well I can't say I'm surprised, had we gone on to scrape our way through to the knock out stages I'd have said we would have won it. I'd rather we didn't even get the Europa League, simply because our performances in the league are mostly unconvincing and we need to focus on that and the FA cup.
As for all the naysayers, remember what happened last year? We dropped out of the CL and went on to win the PL which was much more important. Besides, it took Chelsea 10 years and didn't it take United something like 17? Though most United fans tend to have a selective memory anyway...
