Come on Wimbledon

Over the last few months a lot of arguments have apparently surfaced in this thread. As such, it's nice to have something that surely everyone can agree on - unless there are any MK fans out there of course...?

Just to play Devil's Advocate for a moment , if all the fans who now follow AFC Wimbledon had gone to watch MKDons when *they* were Wimbledon, would they have ended up in the financial mess that meant they ended up moving to MK?

I'm sure this whole story is blown out of proportion. Had there not been an MK Dons then Wimbledon would've probably gone bust anyhow.

Attendances had been dwindling ever since the club vacated Plough Lane (due to the Taylor Report). It is often suggested that far larger visiting clubs - the likes of Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal, etc - kept the club afloat...

Another example of a club that grew up too fast. They joined the League in 1977 - and left Plough Lane only 14 years later.

As a Hearts fan I think it was a bit over the top sacking him - surely we can take a joke even in dire times

I just feel a bit sorry for Clattenburg in this... he's not a ref that I particularly rate (a Man Utd fan NOT liking a ref - shocking! ) but he's been hung out to dry a bit and had his reputation tarnished by what appears to be complete rubbish.

I'm not saying we shouldn't take racism and accusations of it seriously, but I was a bit skeptical from day one.

I don't know why you don't like him, he was more than charitable to Man Utd in that match. With the awful decision to send off Torres and then the clearly offside goal being given by one of his 'assistants' it won Man Utd the game. The gap they have at the top of the league is a direct result of incorrect decisions given in Man Utds favour, in particular the games against Chelsea and Liverpool but there are others.

I really fear what is going to happen when they play Manchester City this season. I doubt last season's results will be allowed to happen again...

ITV have chosen to televise the historic FA Cup Second Round tie between MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon, the first ever meeting between the sides.

The tie, which takes place at the Dons' stadium:mk, is the first ever meeting between the two sides.

AFC Wimbledon were formed in 2004 after MK Dons' move to Milton Keynes.

I don't feel confident in Clattenburg's management of the game, and I find him prone to making rash decisions. I just don't feel he's up to scratch with regards to the big games a whole, regardless of who he 'favours' in his decisions.

I'd rather focus on Clattenburg, who I hope can put this behind him and get back to refereeing (although the FA case, which requires less evidence to be proven guilty, as our finest JT knows, is still going on), but I would add that every team gets decisions their way from time to time, and to be fair we'd had our fair share of decisions against us in the past at Stamford Bridge. Swings and roundabouts.

Ibrahmovic - Wow is all I can say for the 4th goal, but what was Hart Playing at tonight, at fault for goals 3 and 4 and poor positioning on several other occasions, which he got away with.
There was quite a few positives up until about the 75th minute when we made 5 or so subs. Sterling and Welbeck seemed unstoppable when they got the ball, being fouled more times than not when they had the ball.

Brian Laws has certainly been busy in the last couple of days, with Connor Jennings departing to Stockport for a month (presumably to get some first team football) and "Duke" Ellington arriving from Ipswich until Jan 5th.

Unfortunately, Leon Clarke's loan spell will not be extended at Scunthorpe despite him being the joint top scorer in League 1, as we simply can't afford to keep him.

Mirfin is out for about 6 weeks with a knee injury, and now Paul Ried will be suspended for 3 games after getting sent off this afternoon. That leaves Niall Canavan and Callum Howe as our only 2 central defenders. How is only 18, and is yet to make his debut ....
