I'm Oldham Athletic fan here

Hopely on Saturday we will get our first home win of season against Coventry but I think it will be hard game knowing Coventry haven't win this season, I don't think the be lot of people at Boundary Park on Saturday probably about 3,500 they but hopely the 3,000 Latics fans +me will cheers Latics on for win.

I take it then your happy for a new board of directors to take over, right royally screw the club over by sacking 1 manager, then refusing to let the new manager spend any money until they are relegated, while at the same time allowing the better players to be sold or contracts expire ....

I agree, my housemate is a blackburn fan, i think their quarrel is with the owners not the manager. The manager is just the front man...

Personally, I like to see a manager given 3 full years in charge before a decision is made. We appointed chris Wilder when were were 10th in the Conference and last year we ended up 9th in league 2 and did the double over Scumdon. A year on year improvement in league position. I will caveat thsi by saying if the new guy serious norks it up and you end up looking at a trapdoor (Brian Talbot), you can't give them time...

Now all we have to do is start winning again...

Thinking of some of the longer term managers, arsenal, Everton, Exeter city,these teams have all achieved higher than could reasonably been expected, the first couple of seasons under their current management the teams under achieved, and could easily have given the manager the boot.
Paul tisdale at Exeter has turned down numerous other approaches from higher teams, it's good to see a manager committed to a job in this day where most jump to bigger jobs at any opportunity

This is the OTHER Oldham Athletic fan on the forum who has to sadly relate that my regular comments on this thread about the very poor home record in terms of results in League 1 seem true, as the 'Latics went down to a 0-1 home defeat against Coventry City today....:roll:

^^^^ I don't like to swear be Latics were f**king awful today, yes we could score when Baxter hit the post and Derbyshire nearly score but we never played well :-x Both team didn't dessert to win as Coventry were poor too but I'll def cost us the game like Brentford last week :-x

I like Dickov but I can see him been sacked in next couple of weeks if Results don't start improve he will be sacked.

First visit of the season to The Old Spotted Dog, to see Clapton v Stansted in the Essex Senior League.
Clapton were battered for the first ten minutes, but dominated after that, scoring after fifteen minutes and having two more good chances before the break.
Stansted scored two minutes after half-time, when a free-kick eluded everyone and found the bottom corner, but Clapton recovered, having one goal disallowed, a header off the bar and a scrambled chance cleared off the line. They couldn't covert the chances though, and it ended as a 1-1 draw.
However, the most interesting aspect of the day was the presence of Mr. David Gold, the co-chairman of The Tons' more illustrious neighbours from E13. He was happy to talk to supporters, sign autographs and seems to be a very nice chap. Shorter than I thought, mind

Sorry about my rant about Latics but in Premiership Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Man City, Stoke and Sunderland all win with Reading draw to Newcastle and surprise half time score at OT is Tottenham are winning 2-0 against Man Utd. (Three goals in three mins at OT in second half wow) Man Utd 2 Tottenham 3 Latest score.

In Championship, Crystal Palace, Cardiff, Leeds United, Leicester, Peterborough, Watford and Wovles all win with Barnsley, Burnley, Charlton games finish draw.

In League One: Sadly Coventry, Crawley, Colchester, Doncaster, MK Dons, Portsmouth, Preston, Swindon and Walsall All win with Sheff Utd, Stevenage and Tranmere games finish draw.

League Two: Accrington, York, Port Vale, Dag & Red, Bristol Rovers, Fleetwood, Rochdale and Rotherham all win with Burton Albion, Chesterfield and Plymouth games finish draw
