That'll be interesting to see if only because Man Utd (seem to) get a fair amount of dodgy decisions in their favour.
Alas retrospective action doesn't alter the fact that Liverpool had to play with ten men.

This I why I find this particular thread on this forum always good for a laugh, when I read some of the postings from our very own prevailing conspiracy theorists, who really do have some really good and fertile imaginations.

You seem like one of those Manchester United apologists, I have to work with one. The penalty was harsh but i've seen many of them given but it was the cards that I found sickening.

Evra going straight through Sterlings shins didn't even bring a yellow. Then Shelvey gets sent off, mainly due to Evans rolling around on the floor pretending to be injured when he knew full well his tackle was far worse. Van Persie was then very lucky to stay on the pitch.

Added to the awful decisions already gone in Man Utd favour this season it does make you feel a bit ill. Today was another disgrace, anyone who can't see that needs to open their eyes.

As you know, I do not follow football as a game, and have no allegiance to any team. But I do love the bluster and pathetic attempts at "mind games" as sides try to justify some result or other. And there are some individuals involved who, if they showed the same behaviour in everyday life, would be banned from every pub in the town.
It's a game. Some win, some lose. Get over it.

Evans and Shelvey both slid in for the ball, they both were at fault and should have been equally punished. One should not have been red carded without the other receiving one.
United penalty Johnson didnt appear to make any contact, and was in fact nowhere near the player from the replays I have seen.

You could not be further from the truth, if you have ever read postings of criticism that I have made about Manchester United in the past. The comment that I reported about certain Manchester United supporters (many of which live in our village....the home of Wayne Rooney..) was actually based on what I heard from two of them openly making statements to the effect that Liverpool had made the play of time wasting by having Aggar stretchered off whilst van Persie was waiting to take the penalty, whilst we were having Sunday lunch in the restaurant today.

I report as I hear and read, but I do not believe as gospel what is said. I am sure that Leeds United are not what I have heard them described as from conspiracy theorists in the days when Norman Hunter was a rather firm and fair wing-half, with not an ounce of malice in his body or mind.

I still enjoy all the postings from the conspiracy theorists resident on this forum....and only wish that I could be as creative..

- Shelvey was sent off on 38.58
- Gerrard scored on 45.51
- Rafael equalised on 51.45
- van Persie scored on 80.16

If you add up the times of them, each individually equals 96... Then again, those times could be complete balderdash.

Times are complete rubbish. According to the BBC live text from the match (need to scroll down past the report), Shelvey was sent off after 38:15, Gerrard scored on 45:49. Rafael scored on 50:29 with RVP scoris his penalty at 80:11

Yup, sending off was wrong. Even in real time, you could see Evans was off the ground and out of control.

The 2 Liverpool penalty appeals were rightly turned down, as the Man Utd players won the ball first both times.

Should not have been a penalty for Man Utd, another dive by Valencia ....

RVP extremely lucky to finish the match, as he could have been given a straight red for his challenge, then a sly kick at Martin Kelly that the ref missed.

But my opinions are irrelivent, as the FA will decide if anything needs to be done corrected, as after all, I'm just an armchair pundit.

David, bbc timings are often incorrect on the live text, I've often watched a game on sky and been following the live text for other games and 9 times out of 10 the Bbc text times are incorrect, on one occasion they were 3 mins out! The text leaves a lot to be desired as well!

Daniel Agger looks to be out for the season with a Medial ligament injury, and Martin Kelly is out for 6 months with a ruptured cruciate ligament.

It's Carling Cup round 3 tonight and the mightly Leeds United face Everton. As the takeover/investment at Elland Road finally looks like reaching a conclusion there is renewed hope for Leeds fans.

I don't see us getting much tonight however. We were ok in the win against Forest, Becchio (now witn 7 in 7) and the new talent of Poloen looked good but midfield in general was fairly weak.

Everton are bringing pretty much their first team squad with Osman, Anichebe and Fellaini all expected to start. Apparently Mucha will replace Howard in goal however.

Good luck super Leeds but I'm prepared for a walkover tonight, it's going to be a cold wet evening at Elland Road to boot.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) will see Rangers at home to Motherwell in the Scottish League Cup and will be a good benchmark to see how the Rangers team have knitted together since the start of the season and how they will fare against Scottish Premier League opposition.

League fixtures at Hyde, Macclesfield and Harrogate are postponed tonight on account of the waterlogged pitches.

Watched Southampton beat Wednesday last night. Still on my way back, despite deserving to go down 2-0 it wasn't a bad match and it hasn't been a bad trip. Probably gonna get in in an hour and go to bed! Wolves away Saturday!!

Another good result for Wolves following three consecutive wins. We need to concentrate on the Championship and win promotion - then we can face the likes of Chelsea more often.

If we'd have put out a full strength team instead of the reserves we would almost certainly have lost but probably by a smaller margin.

We were playing a full strength European champions team.

Some premiership teams would undoubtedly have been hammered last night too.

So we've avoided injuries and kept all the players who'll play Saturday fresh.

It would be nice to try and compete in this lesser cup but needs must.

A few videos on Youtube of the trouble after the game last night. From where I was (stood on the hill near the West stand car park) the Everton fans appeared to be refusing to go back to the buses. They kicked off with the Police whilst chanting 'Justice for the 96' (clearly not knowing the difference between SYP and WYP) and then goaded Leeds fans leaving the ground by chanting "Istanbul, Istanbul" and other Turkey chants.

I have sent my recording to WYP because I picked up an Everton fan assaulting a woman who was trying to her car. I'm not really sure why it all started. Everton fans seemed up for trouble and for once Leeds fans were blameless.

It was a sad incident that blighted an other wise great evening for Leeds. We are in a lose-lose situation when it comes to things like this because people instantly think that its Leeds fans kicking of.

A couple of Police were covered in blood and a bus window was smashed with a couple of Everton and Leeds fans also getting medical care. Real shame, thought we had seen the last of that, particulary outside the ground with families present. I lost a lot of respect for Everton last night. Very sad.
