Brackley, being based in south Northamptonshire, I take this to be. Whatsoever are they doing in the Blue Square Bet NORTH league ? Where is the geographical line between north and south drawn by the football authorities ?

Surely there are enough Midlands-based sides to form a league at this standard of football.

As you can see, the density of teams around London and the South East means that even South Midlands teams end up in the North. How else can you work it?

The same debate arises each year, we are northern FFS!

Doesn't matter much now though having lost Blyth just Workington are really, really north. There are two geographical lines of clubs, one from Gloucester to Histon and the other from Colwyn Bay to Harrogate.

There's always an exception. Harold (Bishops Stortford) were given £12k compo because they were shifted north post AGM last year.

Looking at it, except for games at Corby, Histon, Gainsborough and Boston; Bishops Stortford have to travel anywhere between 5 and 70 miles further (each way!) to their games than you do. Could this be why?

I am indebted to you for this link, which I suppose means that there can be some long-distance travelling involved in the Conference North league, as Hyde FC found out. Perhaps that was good training for the distances they now have to travel in the Conference Premiership.

No they were given money because they were moved after the leagues were ratified when R&D went tits up. They got nothing this year and are still in the BSN!

Saying that, it's still farcical but nothing can be done other than wishing all clubs relegated from the BSP are more northern.

Truro city would have less travelling time if they were in the BSN than they have in the BSS, due to most of their away games being around London/ dover etc being further than Manchester area

Very impressed watching Swansea this afternoon, very attractive and seemingly effective style of football. More evidence showing that the style of football played by Brendan Rodgers and Laudrup is superior to the style employed by big Sam.

On a different note, better result for United (3-2 v Fulham today). From what I gathered, Kagawa had another good game. Also good for RVP to open his account sooner rather than later. Shame about the injury to Rooney, and once more, our defence will be tightened up when some of injured players return, a defensive partnership can be reformed, and Carrick returning to where he plays best - he is not a centre half!

BBC now saying Rooney out for around 4 weeks. Bit odd Sunderland being called off!

If I may quote Ferret only for a beating/firing squad and I'm sure plenty of bluenoses would join in too.

In part but a lot of it is circumstance, our squad is threadbare and there are only so many ways we can play with the players we have. Our defence is a shambles much like it was last season and up front we're still over-reliant on Bent and Agbonlahor to a worrying degree who's not been on form for a while.

tl;dr we need a bigger squad and for that Lerner needs to spend

Well, after years of debate and opposition, we finally played in England

I was saying this before Sam was appointed, that West Ham should appoint a bright, young manager with good ideas about how the game should be played and build a dynasty to last for years, to get back to the ethos of the club that many fans want.
Instead, they went for short-termism that may well come back to bite them in the bum.

City twice had to come from behind. Their normally tight defence now have conceeded four goals in the first two games of this season.

Arsenal have showed us that they are more sturdy at the back with two clean sheets out of two, however there is always a flip side and that flip side is that we have also managed not to score in those two games.

It seems as there is still a lot more work to do though and even the most optomistic Arsenal fan cant see this Arsenal squad finishing in the top 5.
