On the subject of Villa. We are even more doomed now than we was a few weeks ago. 3 big games coming up now. Blackburn away then Fulham and Bolton at home. We should get at least 6 points from them but if I am honest right now I would be happy with 3. Cheers mcleish you are really doing a number on us good and proper. Delf-what's his name is crap so if he is the answer I would hate to know what the question was. We have a young lad called Andreas Weimann who is good but untested at this level. But he is chomping at the bit for a run of games. Gabby isn't fully fit ATM and as he is all about power and pace he won't be his normal self. Heskey can do a job but that job isn't being a reliable goalscorer.
So in summary. Yes I agree I can't see where the goals are going to come from, and yes we are f****d. But at least the ginger loser will be able to use this as an excuse when we go down instead of his utter cluelessness. But hey, he is a great manager apparently. He won titles with Rangers dontcha know.

Yes it does apply to the PL, City took Craig Gordon on emergency loan two seasons ago when Shay Given got injured in the final few games of the season & Joe Hart was on loan at Birmingham (without that wonderful recall clause).

It is possibly Port Vale could disappear completely. The club is behind with their tax, behind on their loan repayments to the council, behind with their wages, only have 3 directors (by law, they should have 4), but have now been hit with a winding up petition from HMRC ....

To be fair, I think 3-2 was just about the right result. Both teams worked hard and had their chances, it's just the better quality of the Dutch players shon through in the end. Not a bad opening goal either ....

Really nasty collision though between Smalling and Huntelaar, I just hope it looked worse than it actually was and neither player is that badly affected.

Our lesser players were actually trying, and book their place to euros, don't think you'd get that from terry, rooney, lampard et al in a friendly.

I can see more than 4... not impressed by megson but i just think its wrong after the derby win, results like that can often by the start of something.

if we hadnt beat united id of sacked him but the win for me gave him one last chance.

Was there not a run of poor results since the turn of the New Year that may have made the board at Sheffield Wednesday FC come to the decision that they have done? January and February are notorious months for managerial replacements in the hope that a new manager can install a run of form that will lead to an improvement into the standing of the club.

It appears that FIFA will be investigating the result of the Group "E" World Cup qualifying match between Bahrain and Indonesia as Bahrain needed to win by nine clear goals and for Qatar to gain no points from their match.

The Indonesian goalkeeper, Samsidar, was sent off as early as the 3rd minute, four penalties were awarded to Bahrain.....who went on to win the match 10-0 !!

All was in vain, as Qatar obtained the point they needed in a 2-2 draw.

england did ok for much of the game, but the defending for the goals was poor and they ultimately lacked the cutting edge that the dutch had. it wasn't anything to be ashamed of though, holland are a very good team.
the older players like terry and lampard are past it, but i think some of the newer ones need to improve. the tippy-tappy passing just wasn't coming together
