Just before the closure of the Russian transfer window, it was announced that the "money-no-object" Russian club called Anzhi Markhachkala had signed the Blackburn Rovers centre-back, Christopher Samba, for a reported fee of £12million.

Who?

Samba will be missed I feel. He was one of the most underrated defenders in the Prem.

Hammers struggle against Crystal Palace but keep a clean sheet and get the point.
Slough Town draw 1-1 with Daventry Town in Southern League (Div 1 Central).
But Clapton lose 1-0 at home to Barkingside in the Essex Senior League.

A mate of mine went to two of those games today. He didn't exactly enjoy either !!

0-0 'basement battle' indeed at Argyle today, Argyle had a good few chances to kill off a poor D & R side but didn't take their chances
On a happier note The Celts move 23 points clear in the SPL :D

Scunthorpe 0-0 Brentford .... I also saw a tweet earlier about Scunthorpe United.

See that on the day #Scunthorpe lacked a goal threat, names like Hayes, Hooper, Keogh, Josh Wright all scored. Even Jon Forte got in on act!

Even Jonathon Forte, the man who did the square root of bugger all in front of goal for Scunthorpe managed to score today!

Little old Reading go 12 wins from 14 games today with a superb away result at Middlesbrough. Now I see why Wolves wanted McDermott :D

I think this has got to be the most minor mention this thread has ever known.

I once played at an Essex Senior League stadium - if you can call it a stadium - without permission! :p

I will probably always have a soft spot for Southend Manor. 'Twas nice when they had their moment in the sun on this forum (this thread).

They were Clapton's opposition, when I first went to watch the Tons a few weeks ago. A 1-1 draw, with both goals being debatable penalties!

A great game with both sides contributing to a magnificent spectacle - spectators got their moneys worth :p

So close

I've said this before but owing to a certain video game (not FIFA) I have a very soft spot for Cardiff - they are probably my third team. And to see them lose to my main team's arch rivals just makes it that much worse...

2008 all over again I guess. Now watch the Bluebirds plummet in the League :(

Thought that was a meteor that was heading towards my back garden then, turns out it was Charlie Adam's penalty.
