Winchester City continued to keep their good form going but were made to work hard for their victory by their hosts. The most notable moments, aside from Howard Neighbour's penalty, were Stuart Green blasting over from point-blank range and City being denied a stonewall penalty late on when Howard Neighbour was flattened.

It's great to see clubs in Dover's league winning like this, but I hate to see these teams taking the p!ss out of the FA Cup by not taking it or their opponents seriously.

The teams selected for the FA Cup is only half the story though. Ipswich picked a pretty much full-strength side in round 3 and were eliminated by Lincoln. Brighton, Newcastle and Leeds picked reserve sides against lower-league opposition and were knocked out. Huddersfield picked slightly under-strength sides (though all players had played at least one league game this season apart from Collin Quaner, for whom yesterday's game was the first he was eligible for) against 3rd division sides and won both games 4-0.

No, there were eight matches scheduled, and all of them were played.

I've heard it said that this happens quite often, although as I don't often watch Final Score, I don't know whether this is true or not.

Well, Manchester City will be coming down the M62 in a few weeks. I expect they'll rest some of their bigger names as they'll have one eye on Monaco the following week. The big concern for me is whether they'll allow Aaron Mooy to play against them, as he's been a big part of our success this season. Nothing to lose really though- if we beat them the team will all be heroes, if we lose nobody will be surprised anyway.

Sheffield Wednesday have completed the signing of Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes on loan for the rest of the season, after which it will become permanent.

Great signing for us I think, I can see one or two strikers being sold in the summer though. With Fletcher, Forestieri, Hooper, Joao, Nuhiu, Rhodes and Winnall, that gives us seven strikers. We definitely don't need that many, so I wouldn't be surprised if at least Nuhiu and Joao (currently on loan at Blackburn Rovers) leave the club at the end of the season.

You'll be aware of how effective Rhodes can be after the 4 he scored for us at Hillsborough in the 2011/12 season. Though two things strike me about this deal: firstly, there's apparently questions about whether the paperwork was completed in time, hence being a loan initially rather than a straightforward permanent transfer- if you beat one of the other moneybags teams to promotion I predict a legal challenge based on that unless everything is squeaky-clean. Secondly, promotion for you must now be an essential, as I can't imagine you could possibly be compliant with the financial fair play rules, inadequate though they may be.

Although I do think you've made a very valid point, the consensus amongst other Sheffield Wednesday supporters I've spoken to seems to be it's to comply with the FFP rules, so that we can have him now but not pay anything more than his loan fee and a down payment until the new season. Along with at least two strikers, I wouldn't be surprised if a few other fringe players in midfield get sold on so we will be able to bring in a couple of higher calibre players and remain within the FFP rules.

I think if Rhodes can find the form he showed last season (I don't doubt that at all one he's settled in), we could well go that one step further and make it to the Premier League. Time will tell though.

That does make sense, what's suspicious is that there was no talk of loans in the build up, as far as I'm aware. Take it from me, you've managed to get your hands on just about the most clinical finisher in the country and probably beyond- and I'm glad we don't have to face you with him in the side (until the play-offs, at least). He does look to have put weight on with all the bench-warming he's been doing though. He's become very rich in the last few years but his career has flatlined.

Wow. Just wow. Was very nervous about tonight's game but we came out of the blocks at 125mph and never looked back. My only moan is that the 3-1 scoreline doesn't really reflect the dominance of the performance. Onwards now to hosting that noisy lot from down the A62...

Huge win for Oldham as P. Clarke scored in 91st mins to win game for Latics and move them up to 21st in table and now only point behind Swindon. :D

Sheridan record since coming back as Oldham manager is W.L.W.L.W as we play MK Dons on Tues night it should end up win for MK in that match.
