I hope United* win on Tuesday
* That's Leeds United![]()
Leeds United 0.....Manchester United 3
Sir Alex Ferguson made 11 changes (as expected) from the team that played Chelsea, for an away Carling Cup tie on a ground where many fierce encounters had taken place over the years when these two teams were playing in the same division, but even with this fact in mind, Michael Owen (2) and the ageless Ryan Giggs scored the three goals that settled the match in favour of United * ( *That's Manchester United....in response to SS4....and his statement above

Shewsbury take an early lead at Le Arse in the League Cup....Tee Hee....I know it won't last but it's fun anyway
Arsenal 3....Shrewsbury 1
Shrewsbury had taken the lead through a James Collins header while Mark Wright had earlier struck a post, but goals from Kieran Gibbs, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Yossi Benayoun eventually turned the game around for Arsenal.

And finally, a shock result for the forum members in "Salmond-land".....
Aberdeen 3....East Fife 3.....(East Fife win 4-3 on penalties)
In this Scottish Communities League Cup match, East Fife took the lead in the 31st minute through Ryan Wallace, but Rory McArdle headed an equaliser 4 minutes before half-time. Darren Mackie then scored to put Aberdeen 2-1 up, but Matthew Park put East Fife back on level tems and Robert Sloan then put East Fife back into the lead but with the match almost over, Aberdeen were awarded a penalty, which Rory Fallon converted, to leave the score at 3-3. No futher goals were scored in the extra-time period and the match went into the "dreaded" penalty shoot-out. The hero of the night then appeared, as the East Fife goalkeeper, Mark Rogers, saved three penalties, which went 4-3 in favour of East Fife.
