Look on the bright side, there could be a couple of derbies against Port Vale next season
Stoke seem to appoint managers with no record of failure, then turn them into managers with a record of failure.Seriously, would the stoke ownership really appoint someone with such a record of failure?
Quite right. Every cloud as they say……..Look on the bright side, there could be a couple of derbies against Port Vale next season
Certainly in the modern era the club haven't played Step 5 football but it's difficult to work out what level the leagues were that they played in 80+ years ago when such steps didn't really exist. Grantham and District, Midland League etc.The Gingerbreads aren't much better. Lost 5-1 at home today, to Long Eaton Utd. For the first time in our 150 years we're facing Step 5 football next season.![]()
How many times can déjà vu happen?Sporting director Jon Walters says: “I'm absolutely determined that we [Stoke] will now make the right choice to take us forward.”
Ask Roy Keane about Jon Walters... "I know all about him. Bluffer. Again, talks a good game."Sporting director Jon Walters says: “I'm absolutely determined that we will now make the right choice to take us forward.”

Only going to be one winner on that! And they had a massive row which ended with Keane challenging Walters to show him his medals![]()
Yes, good point. Nevertheless the club has been living on borrowed time at this level for a number of years now. However, with a new manager appointed there is hope. That said, they need to win ten from the last eighteen games to survive.Certainly in the modern era the club haven't played Step 5 football but it's difficult to work out what level the leagues were that they played in 80+ years ago when such steps didn't really exist. I thought that might be the loss that does it for Rooney…Birmingham were held to a 0-0 draw by Blackpool, but stay top of League One withtwo games in hand over Wrexham.
In the championship, Oxford United got their secone win under Gary Rowett, beating Plymouth 2-0, Oxform moving 3 points clear of the relegation places. Plymoth stay bottom, four points away from safety and a having a goal difference of -29, having conceded 51 goals so far this season.
Rangers are single fish and theres a good chance Hibs will tuck them away next Sunday in Leith.Fourteen points separate Celtic and also-rans Rangers ahead of Thursday's derby at Mordor, following the Champions' 4-0 win over St Johnstone at Parkhead and a 2-2 draw for the tribute act at Motherwell. After the complaints from Ibrox surrounding the penalty-that-wasn't in the recent League Cup final, two VAR-disallowed goals for Motherwell and fifteen minutes injury time still weren't enough for the men in blue to take three points from the Steelmen today. Considering their media lackeys were just last week talking up their chances of a win on Thursday to take them within six points of Celtic, the last few games have perhaps been a truer reflection of how far the self-proclaimed "world's most successful football club" have fallen behind the team from across the city. Mind the gap.

Oh no….. Rooney leaves Plymouth…. Stoke need a manager…… I fear this won’t end wellWayne Rooney has parted company with Plymouth Argyle by mutual consent.
Trafford FC play in the Northern Premier League - Division One West and are as far as I recall are managed by Karl Marginson who managed F C United of Manchester from June 2005 to October 2017. Has that club been looking to appoint a new manager?Rooney is finished as a manager. I bet when he set out on this career path he had Old Trafford in mind, i very much doubt Trafford FC would touch him now.
If the word on the street (Oatcake Fanzine) is anything to do with it, Walters is likely to appoint Rooney. I think the words “Walters & right choice” shouldn’t be in the same sentence. One thing is certain, whoever gets the poisoned chalice Stoke will say something along the lines of “this is the manager we’ve always wanted….. again”.With Walters saying that he is absolutely determined to make the right choice i honestly think you have nothing to worry about.
Think McGuinness then (briefly) reverted to reserve team manager at Old Trafford for the remainder of the 1970-71 season. One former Manchester United first team player that I can recall was Wilf McGuinness who was appointed as first team manager in 1969 but had only a short time in that role and was sacked in December 1970.
Undoubtedly be a far better choice than Wayne Ruiney!Stoke City. Looks the new manager is Mark Robins. According to the Stoke Sentinel he’s 1-7 on favourite.
He did a hell of a job at Cov but things just went stale in the end so a change was probably best for all concerned. He also last week declined the offer to speak to Millwall so maybe knew the Potters job was about to become vacant (when isn't it!) it has to be better than some EFL journeyman topping up his pension plan or an unknown from one of the Baltic States. All in all you could do a lot worse.Stoke City. Looks the new manager is Mark Robins. According to the Stoke Sentinel he’s 1-7 on favourite.

Serious question? There are a pile of matches that have already been postponed.I wonder if the amber weather warning for both snow and ice in the area shown will have an effect upon the non-league football fixtures this weekend?
I have been out of touch with football for a couple of days. When did the non-league leagues make the first announcements?Serious question? There are a pile of matches that have already been postponed.
The Northern Premier League, for example, nornally updates its fixture page with times of pitch inspections and then when they have taken place. Blyth Spartans vs Ashton United in that league is already OFF this morning.I have been out of touch with football for a couple of days. When did the non-league leagus make the first announcements?
