Seems a bit odd, huh?

The idea in this one follows on from Station Associations. I will choose a football team somewhere in Britain, and then we run along the nearest line in either direction until we reach another station which is local to a stadium. So to give an easy example, if I said The Hawthorns we could go to Kidderminster for Aggborough, and then from there we could go south to Cheltenham Spa, for Whaddon Road. And so on. It does require a bit of knowledge about football stadia, but only a little. If you aren't sure about stadia names, it doesn't really matter; I'm sure I'm not the only one who could fill in the gaps.

Let's see how it goes :D

I shall start with Ipswich (Portman Road).

How local is local?
Can we run along any line, or do we follow services?

From PBO I could go White Hart Lane (Spurs) or Finsbury Park (A'nal). But I'll stick with WHL!

Services where possible, but I don't see why being strict is necessary. From Peterborough you would reach Stevenage though.

Anyhow, from Bishop's Stortford... er...

Stratford, for West Sham [2mi] I guess <(

Within reasonable range, yes. You wouldn't need to choose a station like the Bescot Stadium if it isn't the nearest; something like the above example of Stratford for West Ham [insert anti-WHU quip here <D] would be fine. But choosing something like Bolton for Bolton Wanderers, when in reality the stadium is something like five miles away (close to Horwich Parkway), is asking too much.

Bermondsey (Millwall) & Wembley Park (Webley stadium) on the Jubilee line, and Charlton for Charlton which is visible from the station.

From Colchester you could have chosen a more obscure team. Like, oh, Chelmsford City? My "second" non-League team (no prizes for guessing number 1; I'll give you a clue - they beat the Clarets in the Play-Offs last Spring. It's Bath)?

Seen as that's been aborted, and we've somehow ended up south of the river (I honestly don't see where Charlton comes from!), I'm going to assume the location of Bermondsey and send us down to Preston Park. Which will only be valid for a few more months (when the Falmer Stadium opens). Brighton & Hove Albion currently play at the Withdean (Athletic) Stadium, close to Preston Park.

Blast it. You were supposed to let ME choose Twerton Park! <(

...

Seriously, let's go into Wales. Seen as I'm not sure about the proximity of Newport's ground to the station, I'm going to choose the Cardiff City Stadium.

You already answered this with "cant think of any others", but what happened to the County Ground in Swindon?

From Reading, I will choose the CrossCountry route, and declare Oxford.

Sutton Coldfield Town (I think the ground is Coles Lane)

From Aston there are a few options. Let's go up to the Bescot Stadium, the local station to, uh... the Bescot Stadium!

And I'll follow that with a W&S class 67 to Wrexham (the ground is right next to Wrexham General)
