From Sunday 22nd February we will be making changes to the following Doncaster services: 341/341A, 351/361 and 364/364A. These changes have been put in place to improve punctuality and ensure safety across our busier routes.

Please find updated timetable information here.

Further information on the affected routes is listed below:

341/341A Doncaster – Scawsby
Monday to Saturday daytime service will now run hourly throughout the day, departing Doncaster every hour at 15 past the hour. Morning peak journeys will run up to 10 minutes earlier. Sunday journeys will run 26 minutes earlier all day.

351/361 Doncaster – Skellow
The terminal point at Skellow will move from Mill Lane to Crabgate Lane to allow buses to wait at a safer location. Journeys which do NOT run from Doncaster will continue to start on Mill Lane.

Daytime journeys will run up to 18 minutes earlier, whilst peak journeys will run up to three minutes earlier. Journeys on service 364A will depart Doncaster every hour at 04 past the hour. An additional journey will operate on service 364 on schooldays at 14:04 between Doncaster and Arksey only.

53862 is in Kernow Green with some Kernow lettering and 53865 is in GWR (Great Western Railway) colours. That might confuse the locals unless the vehicles are getting repainted before use!

It's only on a short term basis until other Solos become available. These three Solos will ultimately return to Glasgow, I believe.

First bus seems to have won a tender to provide a Sunday service on the 61/62 Hillsborough to Bradfield from 12 April.

From 29 March there is a timetable change on the 272 which sees a midnight bus introduced from Castleton on Friday and Saturday nights, basically a current light move back to depot made into a passenger service, something requested locally.

61
Hillsborough Intc - Hillsborough Intc

A bus service operated by First South Yorkshire
First South Yorkshire Industrial Action - Doncaster Saturday 28 March – Friday 24 April 2026

First South Yorkshire services from Doncaster Depot will be affected by industrial action on 28 & 30 March and 7, 22 & 24 April 2026.

Limited services will run and many journeys may be cancelled.

At present, confirmed arrangements only cover 28 and 30 March.

Because of Easter half‑term, school services are unaffected on 28 March, 30 March and 7 April. Further updates on possible impacts for 22 and 24 April will be provided closer to the dates.

Details for 7, 22 and 24 April will be updated here and on the First South Yorkshire website.

See firstbus.co.uk/south-yorkshire/news-and-service-updates/industrial-action-doncaster for full service info.

Please note:
X2 and X11 (Sheffield–Doncaster) will run normally as they operate from the First Sheffield Depot.
The 05:00 X3 (Sheffield–Rotherham) will also run as scheduled.

Please check back regularly, as changes are possible.

Streelite 63366 has transferred from Potteries to Olive Grove.
Looking a bustimes that was a very quick turnaround indeed. Apparently it finished service in Leicester at 7pm on Friday and then started again from Olive Grove before 5am on Saturday.

I hope they manage to keep them off the busier services. There's plenty of journeys on the network where a Streetlite gets completely packed, let alone a Solo.

They are for the Sunday 61/62 Hillsborough-Bradfield circular, a rural service (Stagecoach operates it Mon-Sat) and the 114 in Rotherham evenings and Sundays. Both contracts start 12 April. It is expected that Mon-Sat daytime they may be utilised on the 56 Nether Edge to Wybourn.

I don’t think the locals care what colour their bus turns up in…
South Yorkshire's buses in general (not just First) are in a state where it feels like no two buses are the same colour!

Just a question on these, i'm sure i saw somewhere that all the WX59's will be pink DT's is this still the case? Just asking as their isn't alot so was wondering if anymore older E2's like BJ10s or 11 plates might join in the future? Or is it the case that the WX59 will be DT's along with the youngest E1's LIKE 08/09 plates?

There is still least one Gemini at Olive Grove depot that I think at one point was branded for the X78 route. It now just carries generic First branding externally but it has a special interior colour scheme, tables on the upper deck and wireless phone charging.

Could someone please let me know how many of these are in service (maybe just the one?) and what are their registration/fleet numbers? Thanks

The ones with the tables are
Doncaster depot:
36259-36261/36263 & 36264, 36273 & 36274, 36276 & 36278
Olive Grove depot;
36262 & 36277

36261, 36262, 36263, 36277 are in Ultraviolet, the rest are in Mainline livery. 36276 is the only one with full exterior branding showing, the rest all have offside & rear advert frames covering it up

Noted today at Potteries depot were 5 ex Bristol airport flyer deckers which - according to edits on bustimes.org - are destined for South Yorkshire (following repaint at Potteries presumably).
I could positively id 36303-5 and 36321. The latter and a further one of either 36302/6 (which was rubbed down and missing fleet numbers and registration plates) have been prepped for painting.

I got the following pictures -

So after a gap of 16 years, 37240 headed back to South Yorkshire…where it’ll probably end up (in Carlton)
