You'll have to wait for at least 40-odd months before that happens.

That is a great pic which couldn't have come too soon. Surely the rail publication* that commissioned Snapper's pictures of the same unit will have to publish them in their next issue, having held them for some weeks without releasing them.

[* I reckon it's Modern Railways. They published a Derby supplement a while back]

not to strengthen but to be ffc services, displacing 319's on to sevenoaks services (377's apparently going to sevenoaks as well maybe further).

so if all goes to plan fcctl will be getting all the 319's in cluding 319/2's and these new builds.

As far as I am aware FCC have already received the first of their Class 377s, or is this simply reporting that they are now undergoing repainting from the base scheme into the correct livery ready for product launch?

TS Class 380s will look almost identical then!

377202 is only on loan for testing. Hasn't and I don't think it will do any passenger runs with FCCTL. Unless theres some sort of delay with the 377/5s?

westcoaster - the 377/5s will probably be sporadically diagrammed for services to/from Sevenoaks (and for that matter the Wimbledon Loop) every now and again; they will also go as far as Gillingham and Ashford International (via Bromley South) but only for 3 peak services a day in each direction.

As for the 319s, FCC will have access to another 4 in just over 2 months, most likely 013 and 3 /2s (or perhaps 4 /2s). Obviously the last 4 will follow by March 2, and once all 109 units are acquired then 4-car a.m. peak Thameslink services will all but disapppear.

However, 6 will remain in the p.m. peak, and they are as follows:

1534 Sevenoaks – Bedford (departs St Pancras 1646)
1738 Kentish Town – Three Bridges (departs Blackfriars 1754)
1842 London Bridge – Brighton
1537 Brighton – Bedford (departs St Pancras 1706)
1711 London Bridge to Brighton
1507 Brighton to Bedford (departs St Pancras 1636)

m8internet - in addition to Tom's comment, there are no 377/5s outside the Litchurch Lane premises. I don't know exactly when the first unit will be completed, but it must be only a matter of days now.

Should be going to Ashford as well in 2009. But still, they are to Strengthen FCC services, what I meant was not to replace any of the FCC 319s.

I was advised that FCC had already received their first Class 377 for passenger use
So is this NOT the case then!

Looks like the asset team may have updated the fleet in error then!
They are showing 377501 to 377511 in use
I presume this is the error then
I've also noticed they've got 380001 allocated to Shields Road, and that I know can't be right!

The only thing I can think of is that they have done this in preparation for fleet arrival and to offset some tax!

I assumed by asset team he is referring to a ROSCo or First Group asset register.

any gen for when it comes out of Derby? (I assume it'll be like when 377s were new: Class 67s & porterbrook barrier wagon, then 377s.)
Looks nice, will make a difference to 317s/319s bombing up and down all day (I quite like 319s though )

Only in the morning and afternoons do the 317s come out ;)

I now receive the First Group asset list, which includes their fleet (as at specified dates)
This includes some items of rolling stock which clearly are now planned for, but not yet received
I'm not sure if the asset team do this so that they are accounted for and everything is in place, or so that everything is in place first and any changes can then be made before the assets are accepted

It is possible that the Class 377 and/or 380 units are not yet on the rolling stock systems
The unit and coach numbers have already been allocated, but these can quite easily be changed once they have been confirmed by the RoSCo

I'm already aware that 380001 doesn't exist, and was intrigued as to why it appears on the asset list
My suspicion is that this has been done to offset the costs ready for the next tax year

I'm guessing 377501 exists, at Derby.

You could argue that any item of rolling stock exists, so long as either the chassis or digits exist!
I remember many years ago a Mark 3a TSO coach was repainted, but the numbers weren't applied in error
The only way to identify the vehicle was from the internal numbers
I also remember seeing a jig and frame at Crewe Works with 90002 written on it
I never knew if I could accept that as "seeing" 90002!

1842 London Bridge – Brighton
1537 Brighton – Bedford (departs St Pancras 1706)
1711 London Bridge to Brighton

Amazing that the two 2B trains off London Bridge will stay as 4 car. These trains are often dangerously overcrowded at least as far as East Croydon.

1738 Kentish Town – Three Bridges

Again, a very strange decision to allow this to stay as a 4 car. Again the train is often very busy off Blackfriars.

How are they on the First group asset register?

They are
1) Not owned by First Group
2) Not the subject of a lease agreement between First Group and a Rosco
3) Are infact Subleased from Southern.

No, its part of this convoluted 1,300 vehicles order, the extra 377's that Southern ordered a while back are actually for us!

Just to confuse things ever so slightly more, but the trains are leased by Southern from the ROSCO, Subleased to us, and then there will be certain turns where they are sub-sub-leased to SouthEastern!
