The brightness can be adjusted on the LED displays, usually the reason they are difficult to read in summer is because the screen has reset itself to the lowest brightness.

Silly me, I didn't realise that having perfect vision was a requirement to catch a bus.

Can we also make it a requirement that every destination screen has to be in perfect working order and that two buses don't arrive at a stop at the same time so that the destination screen on the second bus is fully visible to any waiting passengers.
It can hardly be helped is two buses appear at the same time. This may be due to something called traffic holding buses up? Therefore some may catch up with each other etc

You should get a job in timetabling.
The 2 buses point is in respect of a boarding passenger being unable to see the destination screen and I clearly identified it as that in the text. I don't understand why you feel the need to conflate the issues with timetabling into the discussion about branded buses being used on different routes to that which they have been branded for.

On the subject of First's timetabling I wish they were more considerate of areas that are always problems when it came to scheduling. Fair enough when congestion is variable in some places but when it's constant and you just know the timetable isn't realistic that's when you know it's an issue.

Another thing that bugs me is the fact different services take different lengths of time between the exact same timing points going the exact same way. It makes no sense whatsoever and the 1s are a great example for it. Different between Scotstoun and Clydebank towards Clydebank and different between Old Kilpatrick and Clydebank towards Glasgow. It would be so much easier to just have it a constant every 10 mins between the 1/1A/1B and then have the 1C/1D slot in on the 5 mins in-between like the way the 38s worked pre Covid.

For what it's worth too on the subject of timetables, anymore changes to come? Sadly, it's still very needed that more services drop due to the driver shortages.

Has 44664 been debranded? Also I see the 242 timetable is changing in June has anyone got an idea if its anything drastic? Possible Sunday service with Overtown depot now operating on sundays?

Sampled some more E400 city Evs on the 38 today. Are the 19 plate e400citys the only non electric ones?

Waited ages on a 57 today at the college, a double decker full and standing couldn't let us on. Guy next to me at bus stop had waited 50 minutes for one. This was my first problem all week in Glasgow, so not bad going!

The college on Cathedral St?

50 minutes? It’s shameful the way in which they’ve not been able to fix this problem.

It's quite common on the 57/57A to be fair. Even from minimal experience of both they're so far from reliable and First seem to be refusing to admit that they can't sustain this level of service. They're miles off at the moment it seems. It's the same with the Scotstoun services. The 2 and 3 in particular haven't improved that much. I've seen plenty only running to Scotstoun and a few not run at all too.

The same rhetoric but the company won’t ever Change I don’t think.

it seems management are under the impression that reliability & frequency are the same thing, however, I also wonder whether Glasgow council or SPT have piled on the pressure to keep the frequencies up despite that not being a possibility.

With Yutongs coming to the 2 and 3 routes, I would of thought E400evs would be more suited to the 2.

After me saying about 2s running short I'm now on one only going to Scotstoun. For a peak service it's incredibly quiet too.

I've been riding quite a lot of full bus journeys in Glasgow recently, it's good to get out and about, I recommend it if you haven't done it before.

Routes I've completed so far: 1, 1B, 5, 6, 7, 7A, 19, 34A, 41, 43, 46, 65 and 77

Personally I have most enjoyed the 1 and 1B. The 6 was my least favourite so far

The 2 isn't a double decker route that's why more singles have been ordered for it.
I have noticed more double deckers on the route. I thought it would warrant double deckers. Does worry me we will have many more single deckers coming to Glasgow

Strangely I feel the 6 is one of the best, better if you get a double decker. You see much of Glasgow on the 6 from the new town of East Kilbride, leafy East Renfrewshire, Southside, City Centre, West End. Forget the city seeing tours get the 6!

I suppose the 6 was pretty good for the city views when you get to the busby and expressway part of the route. I just wasn't a big fan but maybe if I did that journey again I might like it

I've never done it full length at once but the 38C looks like a decent one especially with the fact Rouken Glen Park is only just before the terminus too.

The view just before you come into Busby with the mountains in the distance is stunning.

Yutongs will be more suited as they have a much higher range

It realistically should be though

If you want views from a First bus the S60/160 from Stirling to Tyndrum is much much better

That would be a great route to do
I wonder how often it runs, will need to check.

Regarding the 2, as someone who uses it for work and also sometimes at the weekend I don't believe it warrants all double decker but it definitely needs some. It is also now one bus an hour better off-peak than the Sunday service which has to be factored in IMO.

The problem is that the double deckers it does get other than the odd E400 here and there and 77 branded E400 MMCs are usually on their last legs. This morning was the 3rd time in around 6-7 weeks where I've got on a double decker and had to get off at Scotstoun to swap to another bus because of issues with the double decker.

E200ev have a range of 160 miles and the Yutongs e12 have a range of 180 miles, do there's not much of a difference.
