I always notice the 2 branded on the 6 because the 6 requires 26 buses during the day (that's a lot) and there's only 23 Enviro400's in service. The 6 is also based at Scotstoun as caley swapped it's behalf for the 9/9A.The 2 branded E300s are quite often on the 6. Is the 6 now operated by Scotstoun soley?
The 7 has a few deckers on it. It does run in the shadow of other routes, so not one of busier routes.
Tried get a ride on one other week. 2 in a row went in the other direction. Any more due soon?I've been seeing the EV's more often on the 75 and even though there are only 4 in service, I think they are superb. Think these are a decent replacement for the Enviro400 MMC's.
I think there's more coming before the end of the month, should be fully EV operated for the 75 before March! (that's what I think will happen but there's no evidence on when they will be fully in service)Tried get a ride on one other week. 2 in a row went in the other direction. Any more due soon?
Inside they must have the same spec as existing E400MMCs.

Hopefully they will fix the cab heaters; they are poor.Tried get a ride on one other week. 2 in a row went in the other direction. Any more due soon?

Sorry, my mistake, I always get them mixed up, I fixed it.The 2 extension was replaced by the 202 not the 242.
lncorrect. The X8/9 went Scotstoun to Caledonia in summer with the Caledonia part of the 2 and 6 going the other waythe 6 was never based at Caledonia when these changes came about.
The latter is not because of the formerScotstoun now has all the 2 service but it’s 49 & M4 is currently being driven by Glasgow Citybus
I do not know where you got this from but 33904-23 were certainly based at Caledonia before the 9/9A changes happened. I don't remember the 49 being based at Scotstoun either. The M4 is still operated by First GlasgowScotstoun was sharing the 2 with Caledonia East
whilst Scotstoun solely operated the 9/9A & x8

The M4 and 49 are being operated by Glasgow citybus drivers who are on loan to first Glasgow.I do not know where you got this from but 33904-23 were certainly based at Caledonia before the 9/9A changes happened. No, internally Caledonia is split into 3.Where is the garage for Caledonia East, as I have never heard of it?
I have heard of plain Caledonia, which is along Cathcart Road which replaced the garage at Larkfield along Victoria Road.
Also, is there a Caledonia West garage?
No, internally Caledonia is split into 3.
Ex Cumbernauld - Caledonia North or 2
Ex Parkhead - East or 3
Ex Larkfield - South or 1
YesI’m guessing that it was Caledonia South who drove the 6?
North/2 - currently operates the M3, x3, x85, x87, 87, 88, 89.Many thanks.
Are the Kirkintilloch routes part of North/2, as back in 2000 when the garage at Possilpark closed, the Kirkintilloch routes (except the 184 Glasgow - Kilsyth via Twechar as that went to Parkhead) were transferred to Cumbernauld?
Parks of Hamilton drivers also on loan to Blantyre tooThe M4 and 49 are being operated by Glasgow citybus drivers who are on loan to first Glasgow.
North/2 - currently operates the M3, x3, x85, x87, 87, 88, 89.
East/3 - x8, 9/9A, 19, 41, 43, 46, 60/60A, 61, 64, 65.
South/1 - 4/4A, 5, 7/7A, 10, 21, 34/34A, 38, 38B, 38C, 38E, 57/57A, 75 & perhaps the 31.
I’ve never driven south so that’s all I know of that..
Scotstoun from what I’ve gathered - 2, 3, 6/6A, 8, M11, 16, M60, 77, 81, 90, 94 & possibly 1C & 1D, albeit Dumbarton may do 1 or 2 journeys on those..
Dumbarton - 1/1A & 1E & perhaps a few other local tenders..
What actually strikes me talking about this is the amount that has changed over the years, about the only routes I know which haven’t changed over more than 20 years…61, 75, 201, 240 & 267, anybody else care to join this??
The 18 is a Blantyre route in the main, with a few journeys early/late in the day run by Caledonia. For south, maybe also the 18?
Pre Overground, the 18 was operated by Possilpark and ran from Greenhills - Springburn via much of the present day route EK Town Centre - Central Station, then Charing Cross Station, St George's Cross, Maryhill Road, Bilsland Drive, and Hawthorn Street to Springburn.
With the Overground concept, the route was revised from Charing Cross to run to Summerston via Kelvingrove Park, Byres Road, and Maryhill Road to replace (I think) that section of the 57. At this point, the 18 would change to the 54 (Summerston - Penilee via Cadder, Lambhill, Saracen Cross, Cowcaddens, Central Station, and Paisley Road West) and vice versa at Summerston.
When Possilpark closed in 2000, I think the 18 went to Larkfield, with the 54 transferring to Parkhead, interworking with the 61.
Surely many of these changes only service to aggravate Glaswegians over the years..For south, maybe also the 18?

After Possilpark closed the 18 operated from Larkfield for a year then transferred to Parkhead.I’m not 100% sure but I don’t think Larkfield ever had the 18, apart from peaks.
Those L-reg Leyland Olympians were totally gutless and struggled to exceed 40mph and the Hong Kong triaxles weren't much better. The only thing that went in the favour of the L-regs (I think LO50 may have been a K-reg) was that they had good heaters.18 E Kilbride to Summerston, run by Parkhead, L*** UNS Leyland Olympians (some branded for the 18).
16 E Kilbride to Blairdardie run by Knightswood N*** SOS Volvo Olympians
There were also, at some point, ex Hong Kong tri-axles that were on the 18. (Parkhead depot).
To be fair to First Glasgow, the network has largely been the same since Simplicity was launched in 2013 but there was a ridiculous amount of changes in the years prior to that.Surely many of these changes only service to aggravate Glaswegians over the years..
They have appeared beforehand, I have been on an E400 before on the 60 back in 2019, plus, I did see a few of them on the 60 & 60A prior to them all moving to the Scotstoun depot.Last summer I was Caley East. In the 6 months I drove there I didn’t see any Enviro 400 classics, presuming that there were some at Caledonia for the 6 then and I’ve missed them.
they never appeared on the 60/61 or any Caley east route at any point, given that it’s every kind of bus everywhere over the past 2 years.
not that I’m complaining though, prefer the Volvos anyways…
I’m guessing that it was Caledonia South who drove the 6?
There are no drivers on loan to First Glasgow. Buses with ticket machines are on loan to Glasgow Citybus for services 49 and M4, to be operated by Glasgow Citybus on behalf of First Glasgow. The M4 and 49 are being operated by Glasgow citybus drivers who are on loan to first Glasgow.
Same thing? The citybus drivers are operating the route for first Glasgow with a first vehicle. There are no drivers on loan to First Glasgow. Buses with ticket machines are on loan to Glasgow Citybus for services 49 and M4, to be operated by Glasgow Citybus on behalf of First Glasgow.
Their appearances on anything other than the 6 are rare these days but I may have spotted them on the 2, 60-60A and 61.They have appeared beforehand, I have been on an E400 before on the 60 back in 2019, plus, I did see a few of them on the 60 & 60A prior to them all moving to the Scotstoun depot.
