Wonder how long it'll take to phase them out fully. Can't have too much life left tbh

Never really was a fan of the B7Ls. The B10BLEs were always far superior. Never understood why they got banished to Lanarkshire after being used at Parkhead. Perhaps it was to do with them being Euro 2.

I’ll be glad to see the back of them. They’ve always smelled really bad, they’re loud and rattle your bones within an inch of your life.

Yeah used to loath when one turned up packed on a 66 on hot day ! So noisy inside

Yeah the 66 was a brutal service to rely on when it was a hot day. Great Western Road being as busy as it can be could easily hold up one for a good 20/30mins extra. How many more changes do you guys think there will be in August? Actually not been as many I thought registered yet

Glasgow has never had a shortage. They just don't have as many spare vehicles as they previously did. If Glasgow was short on vehicles we wouldn't have scrapped the president's and B7/b10s

I saw an 02 plate trident on the 60 this evening. Must surely be the last one as I haven’t saw any in a while.

It's 33120, the same one that people keep mentioning and the only Trident/President left in service with Glasgow.

What services do you guys think will get the next new buses when they come? Would definitely think the 9 needs them a lot. Been on two lately where there's been rain leaking into the inside of the bus and seats. Maybe even the 4s or 6s too

Well previously many have said the 4 no longer was what it used to be, new buses would certainly benefit on the 9 competing against McGills etc, core routes usually get new vehicles and aside from the M3 and its supposed electric upgrade I’d like to see some of the ancient optare Solos replaced around the suburbs, even some 8.9\9.7m 200MMC bought for these..

Yeah Mcgills are there for the taking just now to be honest. There's so many options for new buses just now so I don't envy them planning out where to put them next

Although not confirmed it seems very highly likely based off word of mouth that the 9/9A will be getting new vehicles in the next order. I wouldn't be shocked if "The One" also gets some new stock to oust the E300s and Gemini's on to "lesser" routes.

I'd definitely be happy with the 1s getting them as I use them the most. The route is super profitable and with how busy most of the buses are for a lot of the day it would make sense to put new buses on them

Caley have this only but Scotstoun depot still have a few 03 plate b7tls. Not sure why caley still have the 02 plate as it was on the scrap line and was brought back into service. Scotstouns will go when next vehicles arrive.

7 could do with newer buses , stinking eclispe yesterday , i think its secondary main route though .

Dont think the 6 will get new buses , mixture of singles and doubles on it

The 4/4a seems to have lost a lot of passengers over the years. Got an old aunt who lives on Mearns Rd and during the day the buses rarely have more than 4 or 5 on board. What’s really baffling is how few students use it to Glasgow Uni. There are thousands more students now compared to when I did my undergrad but the buses are far quieter. I can see the 15 mins summer service being introduced all year round (with a few peak extras).

I wouldn't be surprised with that either. It seems to have went downhill fast since they took the 4/4A out of Knightswood and Kelvindale. The X4 was a good idea but even that is extremely quiet out with peak time. Losing the West end link from both places done more damage

I know you've said above there isn't a shortage, but the exact reason it's still in use is due to the shortage... You can still cover the PVR even if you have a shortage.

The One and the 9/9A could be doing with new stock for sure. The One receives quite a lot of custom and the buses have been run to the ground for the last 7 years. The 9/9A I thought would have received newer stock before now given they are in direct competition with McGills but instead have the B7RLEs which are beyond tired now. There are some pink branded E200MMCs still running around on the 2 which may be used if the 9/9A get new stock.

It would be nice to see deckers introduced on the 2 again after many years of single deck operation. It’s a route which can work single deck operated but would still benefit from higher capacity buses especially during peak times.

I think introducing new stock on core services such as the 2 and 3 would release a lot of E300s and E200MMCs on to various other routes on the network which in turn would wipe out a lot of the older stock being used. The Streetlites would be good on the 7 imo. They could be doing with smaller buses on routes like the 8, 90 and 16. Also I’d move all the remaining B7RLEs to Caledonia to become their primary decker until they retire.

If the likes of Cadder and Bankhead weren't so difficult to manoeuvre they'd maybe work but the 7 is a fairly busy service so I don't see it

I thought that was the whole point of the 4 , to link Southside to Glasgow Uni . Used to be well used by students in Mearns and Clarkston to the Uni . Most students are stay at home students too . Not sure what happened , maybe using the train at Patterton etc.

I've had friends at the uni over the last few years and as time has went on there have been fewer Scottish students around so maybe that's a factor too. I'd love to know the exact numbers on the 4 compared to even the subway from the city centre. Another factor could be how long the 4 takes to get through the city centre. It does tend to drag at peak times

Even if they were a wrong paint job why are they appearing on the 2 and other routes which weren’t to get new buses.

Perhaps they might revise the capacity for the 2 and 3 when ordering new buses. Noticed more B7TLs and B9TLs on the 3 in recent years.
