Leyland Atlantean LA1285 could've been one of the last 70's buses to be withdrawn or some of the Leyland Leopard Y-types from Motherwell that were exported to Cuba.

Last 80s bus would've been an AH Volvo Citybus. Unsure of the fleet no.

Yeah , g reg city buses lasted till 2009 , though G was 1989 or 1990 maybe ?
Leyland Atlantean , were the last ones retired the 1980s ones?

New service 202 will operate every 40 mins from Overtown depot. Only 1 bus required it will not interwork with 242.

Will save them a good bit of money with the saved mileage from the 2 as well as only needing 1 bus for the 202

Saw a Scotstoun E300 heading down the M8 the other day from Maxim Park heading back to the depot. Surely that’s quite a bit of dead mileage accumulating....

If i was first I would combine the 242 and 202 together, get one more bus in, and operate every 20min up to Airdrie.

Actually quite glad tbh. If/when First bus is sold I can see whoever takes over making a lot of changes

Given that it would likely still be the same management in place (albeit with a different parent company) i doubt there would be much changes initially and if there were further down the line the argument that it was because of the change in parent company is somewhat void as we don't know if that would actually be the case.

When the time comes for Glasgow to be sold, the new buyer is in effect buying two companies.

I wonder if they will split and go their separate ways...

Highly unlikely that it'll split. It'll be one company in every way other than legality. At an operational level i don't even think it's possible to "split" them anymore.

It’s possible it could split as they are separate companies atm. Have to remember though a sale is only one of the options being looked at anything could happen.

They are separate at a legal perspective, but at an operational perspective i think not! Agree, anything could happen at this point. I wouldn't personally put my money on a sale just yet.

Wonder if glasgow will get any buses from Bolton depot which has been sold?

I every much doubt it.

The buses are being leased to the new owner until such times they get their own buses so won’t be getting any anytime soon.

Only about 2/3 of the buses, currently allocated to Bolton, are going on upto 2-year lease to the new owners.

So basically all the decent buses being leased? Added to the fact the vantage buses are not part of the agreement does that leave much for cascade?

Strange that considering other ticket types work as normal. Used the 90 at night with my 4 weekly ticket and with an all day before so it's odd that only singles are different

I cannot see that happening. Whoever wants First Glasgow will want the lot as you'll end up in competition if it's sold in parts. It would also mean less flexibility to the passengers who use day and week tickets or they'll have to buy SPT zonecards or the Glasgow Tripper instead.

Doesn’t Bolton have many of the E400s from the Commonwealth Games stock that came here in 2014 then was stolen from us like candy from a kid?

I wonder to save money if it would have been a better idea to cascade some of that stock up here to replace some of the 53 plate tridents and Gemini’s. I imagine they’d be in pretty good nick still considering they’re not that old and they have the current interior scheme.
