I had my DM interview 5 weeks ago, still waiting to hear any news..

just had my medical this morning, how soon after medical do fgw get in contact and do they then send a contract out? i passed my medical all satisfactory.

Some have had their contract a week before their start date. I wouldn't expect anything too soon, I passed my medical and have heard or received nothing from HR since.

I only know when I start etc because I'm internal and have received info from the DM himself.

Yes it looks like a typical rejection letter. No particular details about your interview.
You must not give up and keep on trying. Having reached so far in the selection process is a great achievement.
On the bright side, your assessment results remain valid for few years which makes you a perfect candidate for another TOC.

I didn't realise you had to wait 6 months if you failed DM Interview.
I thought that it was independent of the assessments?

Oh that's not very good then, i've got to arrange new accomodation closer to oxford and need to know a start date because i need to hand my notice in at work as well. The only thing i was told after my interview is that i would be starting in march/april. thanks for that info.

I think that I can apply straight away to other TOC's. Its just FGW that I need to leave for 6 months. (I think). However, there are no other TOC's close enough to where I live anyway.

I know that most people would consider re-locating for a career but my wife has a good local job and my kids are in the middle of their GCSE's and A-Levels so relocating is not an option at the moment.

I know there is a course starting in Reading next week but I don't know if the next course after that.

The next one in Bristol is April 7th but being based at Oxford, i would have thought you would train at Reading.

well if a course is starting next week, i cant imagine another course starting until that one is past the rules and possible traction unless they have enough resources to have more than one course.if i dont hear anything by next week ill have to ring.

They have numerous trainers and resources to do multiple courses. A course started in Bristol on 6th Jan, a course is starting in Reading within the next week or so and another course is starting in Bristol on 7th April.

Last year, when this mass recruitment drive started, there were courses starting within weeks of each other.

There have been 6 or 7 courses that have started in the last 5 months, 2 of which only have 3 weeks between them, so they do run side by side.

yup,got the call this morning, i start 3rd march contracts in the post. they offered me one next week or week after but i need to give more notice at work so not able to start on that course.
