First Class at the Weekend ?

Does anyone have a list on what is provided at the weekends in First Class on each TOC ?

VT - If theres catering then Tea/Coffee, Biscuits/Crisps. Your basically pay the extra for the legroom and table/sockets. Worth it on long runs. £15 if I recall, great if you manage to get a cheap advanced ticket, makes its worth while if something like Eus-Glc or Glc-Eus.

They also offer an at-seat first class service on the EDB routes at weekends.

Scotrail offer a free drink from the trolley service.

As Advance members get a free upgrade at the weekend that plus the better seat is not bad value, but not really worth it if you are paying.

Greater Anglia offer complementery Tea, Coffee, Water, Juice, Buiscuits and Crisps (which is just the same as on the weekdays)

Also Greater Anglia offer a first class upgrade for £10 or something like that at weekends

It is £10 between Wolvo/New Street to Euston.
£15 - New Street - Scottish services. Believe the same for the others as well.

I think East Coast must top the table for the best offering on paper -- (pre-packed) sandwiches, crisps, soft drinks, biscuits.

In practice...well, there's a whole thread for you to make up your mind

Yea, I've upgraded twice with my Advance card and as you say, you can't complain but it's certainly not worth paying (unless standard is rammed and you value a seat).

FGW I had a drink, a bag of crisps, and a pack of biscuits. I'm quite happy to pay the £20 upgrade from Cornwall to London based on the comfier leather seats, and the quieter environment.

No on all services other than the two breakfast trains it's a trolley only no hot food.

Had the pleasure of having the breakfast on EMT southbound a couple of Saturdays back, although its not included in the ticket price (although they do a breakfast included ticket) you have to pay £9.95. Choice of cereals, fresh fruit and juice, followed by toast, followed by full English served at your seat, tea and coffee throughout the journey and bottle of soft water, excellent value.

There is of course only any sort of proper 1st class on Mainline Norwich (mark3+90) and Stansted Express services- on all other Mainline, West Anglia, Metro and Rural services that have 1st there's just a slightly better seat
