Yep but it'd help if peak time was anything like accurate. Trains heading out of London at ~0600 don't tend to be massively busy.

Anyone know what the Eurostar timetable will be from 1 Oct? Their website is still advertising the service until 30 September only - tomorrow!

They have now updated their website, it will be 26 trains per day in each direction (up from 22 now, 1 more for Paris and 3 more for Brussels).

Just read about that, apparently it was only a portion of the train and part is still left in the tunnel.

Well they are still running the contingency service but even once the rest of the train is removed it will still take a few months to get the full service back up and running.

The fire happened just after I had booked a single back from Brussels for Sunday week, quickly followed by a further return journey to Brussels :roll:

We were starting to get worried (especially seeing as we could have flown back from the first trip at a reasonable price), but I am glad we "stuck it out" as the trains that we booked on all appear to be running now

PARIS (Reuters) - Eurostar, the high-speed passenger train service linking Britain to mainland Europe, reported a 2.4 percent rise in third-quarter sales on Wednesday despite the Channel Tunnel's closure for two days in September due to a fire on a freight train.

Eurostar said sales rose to 152.3 million pounds, and passenger numbers rose 6.4 percent.

The company said it carried 2.27 million passengers from July to September, adding the rise occurred "despite Eurotunnel's closure of the Channel Tunnel on September 11 and 12, which caused a reduced level of Eurostar services for the rest of the month."
