Hi, long time lurker first time poster! I also got a polite "No thank you" a couple of days ago. A shame that they won't give feedback at this stage of the application process (it even specifically says this in the email).

I'm through to the Assessment stage too.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me a bit more specifically about the training FGW drivers based at Reading/ Oxford/ Paddington.

On the job description it said that there may be some training away from home. Is this true? Where do they carry out the rules/ theory training for these roles??

Thanks in advance!

I think the main structured interview is indeed on the day and then the final interview is held at a later date and is much less formal.

I am still awaiting short listing

My assessment day was 1st Sept.

I could not get the day off work as too many on A/L.

Asked if any other dates, told no, so i've had to withdraw.

Got an email yesterday saying that I'm 'on hold' ... I guess that means I passed the application stage but they have no vacancies left.

Has anyone been for an assessment for this job yet? If you applyed for all three locations will you be asked at the interview which one you are going for?

Can anyone on here give me some information about whats its like to work for FGW?

Not heard anything yet, my assessment was on the 25th of August.

I believe interviews are due around the beginning of October...

Well that pees me right off, I asked if there were any other dates for the assessment and was told no. So I had to withdraw my application as I couldn't get the 1st of Sept off which was the day they gave me. After spending hours on that application too, tossers!
