Just picking apart Alison Forsters statement.....

She said extra trains were being put on some routes.....and some routes have had their services seriously cut (Melksham line)

£3m had been allocated to improve train interiors.....presumably referring to HST's; to be welcomed but there really needs to be a rolling program of refurbishment including ex Thames Trains and Wessex stock, some of which is starting to look quite tired.

It has promised a better catering service on all trains leaving the capital.....have to question this one; aren't some HST sets losing their buffets in favour of trolleys - is this better. Also, that statement is blatantly untrue; I don't think there will be too much in the way of catering service on Turbo services.

Now it's time to look forward. Customers will see real benefits soon.....thank goodness; near bottom of most of the published 'league tables'; things can only get better.

I, for one, am looking forward to the forthcoming reliable, punctual service without overcrowding on improved rolling stock.

She needs to be sacked. Immediately.

While GNER have increased their HSTs to 9-cars with no noticeable decrease in timings, she is the only MD to actually deliberately short-form London-bound InterCity services despite growth. It's unbelievable. Just that fact alone means I cannot take her seriously.

Her abysmal policies on the Saver, where a Penzance to York is cheaper than Penzance to Bristol in the morning, is incomprehensible. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at such policies.

The only thing she has got right is her love of HSTs over Adelantes. But she is not really doing us any favours with the refurbishment.

Although I am pleased she has apologised, her apology is simply not good enough, and she needs to accept the blame and stand down.

Before anyone complains, yes I realise the DfT have acted badly and it's not entirely Farce's fault.
