Have you heard the Adelante's will be going to First Transpennie Express and the 170/3 Turbostar's will be going to FGW

The 170/3s that TPE have ex-SWT? Can't believe that... they've only just been re-done up for TPE!

More spin in these rumours than in the houses of parliment!

No way 170's, they have to have there exterior steps removed to operate in some of the places

I think it stems from a world where if the Adelante's go to TPE, they use some on the Scotland services and the rest on Hull -Liverpool services, thus displacing 185's onto 170 routes and having spare 170's.

For political reasons (election anyone?) these are sent to FGW to fill in for the lost 158's.

Of course in this world, trains always run on time, tehre is no overcrowding and porcine are often airborne.

Hmm Doubt that Jim 171s can work most of the Southern Main Line Network.

Well, explain to me why else 170's weren't cleared on the Salisbury - BTM line but they were on Exeter and west of Exeter ECS only!

Class 170s dont have selective door opening so have generally not been used on trains with portion working in their diagrams. (171s do) Whilst they have never been cleared for BTM I dont think they wouldnt fit. Certainly the coastway route to brighton needed platform alterations to accept 158/9s but no work to accept 170s.

170s are banned west of Yeovil Junction unless their step plate boards are removed...

Well they could get 170s if there staple boards are removed , it could be a prospect for new 171s to replace the 180s.

Trains can't run in passenger service unless they have step plates...

170's occasionally operated west of Yeovil Junction for South West Trains. There was definetely a service at the weekend.

Just have what Pendos have, fold out ones that fold out when the door opens.

Would that not require serious modification of the units in question, and a new safety case for the? As well as creating a new subclass....
