Hi,

Not been on here for a while so not sure whether this situation has been discussed.

Did my full application process and passed my final interview in March this year. Got an email the other day about FCC losing the franchise and will be in contact. Still have had no contact as to what is going to happen with our applications.

Does anyone know what is going to happen?

Cheers in advance.

First off Iceman, congrats and well done!

I had my DM Interview this week and was told that FCC are currently in talks with Govia about how the transition will affect the training. Also, mentioned that successful candidates may have to enter a pool until things are settled.

Afraid it's another 'wait and see' kind of thing I guess! :|

Yeah got told I was put into a talent pool back in March when I passed the interview. Hope it doesn't increase the waiting time. Hope you did well in your interview mate!

Nope.

However, it would appear (from what I've heard) that those selected for the September course have already been given a phone call. - It would also appear, those not selected haven't been sent a follow up email.

Best bet is probably to drop them an email.

I received an email on Monday saying that I'd passed all the stages but all the vacancies are now full (same as above) so in I go to the pool but in theory, if you were put in the pool back in March then you would have been given the nod ahead of any newcomers? That's how I've been lead to believe this works? Anyone any ideas?

If that's not the case is the talent pool more of a 'b team' affair who, depending on the quality of any newer applicants may not actually get a shot even though they got through the whole process?

Apparently it depends on a number of factors, DM interview score, closeness to depot to name but a few

I haven't received any correspondence since being informed of the Govia takeover but speaking to HR a few days ago, I was informed that this would have no bearing on our applications as they always need frontline people.

I was left not feeling any the wiser re, what is happening and they were non-committal re, how they choose their current crop of applicants in the pool suggesting that their isn't really any criteria.

My understanding is that all the Kings Cross positions were filled and they also filled some for Blackfriars as well.

Are you in the pool.....for Kings Cross?

Last time I spoke to fcc they told me they were having intakes for Cambridge in September so I can only assume they mix people up for the training side as the only part thats possibly different will be the signed routes needed.

Hi Jim, no i'm not in the pool for any of the London depots but have asked to be considered due to my location and the reasonable travelling time for me. However, i'm sure that their first priority will be to assign those who have applied to their chosen depot.

Just hoping that a further interview won't be required if I exceed six months of being in the pool.

Hey Guys

I have spoken directly to FCC as I was originally offered to try for Blackfriars, then I got put in a pool as those were filled, then I got an email offering me Kings Cross which I accepted, and I passed my final DM interview a couple of weeks ago

FCC have told me that all positions for KX and BF are now full, and the few people I have met along the way and I have kept in touch with, those who passed the final interview and were offered a place were notified in the week following those final interviews, those who were not didn't get the email about the placement or the medical, the medicals are taking place this week and next from what I have been told by the guys who are in

FCC Have said to me that as the franchise is finishing and as of Sept it will be the newly formed company, all those who have passed the final interview are now being held pending the merger

This is actually really good for us, the talent pool IS being carried across, and this will mean that there will be a whole load of new, maybe closer training facilities, as the existing companies facilities will be used

Because I live a way aways from the London Depots, this is actually better for me personally as I would hope that I will as and when the time comes, be offered a place on a training course closer to me

Yes, its a wait and see still, but there is obviously also the upside that if you have passed your final interview, and you dont get an offer within what you think is a good time frame, you could always apply to another TOC as it would be a lot less trouble for them to have an interview with you knowing you have passed all the assessments

I personally will be waiting and holding for FCC (or its new form), as they were the ones that have spent the time and money on me thus far, and I felt at every stage of the process they were the company I wanted to work for, the people at every stage were brilliant, the two people interviewing me were only interested in making me feel comfortable and relaxed, and they only had my best interests at heart, so I am more than happy to wait until they give me a call or an email :)

I don't know about brighton one would assume so, have you given HR a ring? I personally would have rung them and explained that I'd passed everything and have been in the pool for a while but haven't had an update

The assessments are good for three years I wouldn't waste that time personally it depends on if you have contacted them, maybe ring rather than email as it's a little more personal and they are really nice to speak to in my experience

Was on a training course today ( I'm a driver) and was told that all driver recruitment is now frozen until govia take over. We are as much in the dark about the franchise as everyone else
