Anyone got any details on the state of the conversion to 168s of this stock? Have they started revenue work with Chiltern yet?

I even posted in that thread. :P To be more specifically, the ones that went later, i.e., former 170303, and 306-8.
Might as well as the related question, did they keep the first class section?

They certainly have. Welcome to 2-car trains on the Birmingham runs. Even in 1990s 165 days these tended to be 3-car.

Nope, the former 1st class section is now the "quiet zone". Can't remember if Chiltern kept it as 2+1 or they converted to 2+2.

The 170's left TPE in april after they did the TPE/BLS/Railway children farewell charter. We were supposed to have the pretendolino by now but GA are still using it and will be getting a TPE refurb first

TPE still had some class 170s on 3 July, when they used them on a railtour. The photo below shows the tour between High Peak and Buxton.

I have been on a few of the Chiltern Railways 168/3s this week and have to say that they do have some very nice interiors. They are certainly nice trains to travel on.
