Tfw operate mk4s on the Manchester service, there is a thread on this topic. The mark 4s have a more heavy exam / refurb coming up and as such the set would cover for the other 7 (now 6 due to a crash) while that work is done. It would also be covering for the missing HD02 set due to that one having been in a collision.

This info is generally on the train database (yes it's a spreadsheet, not a database), however it appears to have fallen out of date, updated as per:

82220 12526 11316 10305 12308 12215

Assuming 82204 (previously listed as on HD08) is now spare.

Half of its already in service as HD02. 08 will be at least 12 months now I believe, the original 3 HD08 vehicles will be ready before that but the 3 remaining vehicles from Leominster (if they arent written off) will require extensive repairs or replacement.

HD01/02/03 are all still red but should head off for repaint early next year one by one. Unfortunately the original plan of HD08 releasing a set will no longer be possible.

TfW Class 67+Mk4 sets: trip planning/experiences, diagram updates etc

HD01 has suffered a dodgy Speedo tonight and has been swapped off 1V62 at Crewe and sent to the shed. HD05 was pinched off 1W63 at Crewe and sent back to Cardiff on 1V62 to keep the balance right over the weekend.

Thats not going to happen as theyre not cleared Chester to Warrington.

Potentially there could be a weekend Holyhead-Crewe diagram using the spare rake at Holyhead. This ran at Christmas and has run on Summer Saturdays in the past.

AFAIK its still not changed from being expected October/November time and once its out and abour it will enable HD01-03 to head off for their heavy overhaul.
Everything is about 12 months behind following the Leominster incident and some of HD08s vehicles moving to HD02.

I read recently that TfW have bought mk4 coach 12467 from Beacon Rail and it's at Worksop.

Also l read somewhere else that 2 DVTs have also been acquired - it didn't say which ones or where they are.

Presumably all to do with the fleet refurbishment, though.

I can only assume those 2 DVTs are 82210 & 82218, as those are the only two left that aren't still in use with LNER

It's in the recent RAIL Magazine. I read it this morning. More mk4s have gone to EMR for scrap.
