For what ticket? What about London Midland out of Euston? Ta in advance for any assistance.
For what ticket?
The normal restrictions for WVH - EUS Super Off Peak Return (OPR) rtn portion are:Super Off-peak - return part thereof (destination Wolverhampton). The strikes which are now off might well have done me a favour......
The normal restrictions for WVH - EUS Super Off Peak Return (OPR) rtn portion are:
Not valid for travel on London
Midland services timed to
DEPART any station between
1630 and 1930 in either
direction (except for the 1829
London Euston to Crewe service
) unless a connecting
service is being used to
complete a journey begun at a
valid time.
If the 1829 is cancelled, then I would of course expect you to be conveyed on an alternative service. There is no easement in the restriction code for the festive season.
I can't find any specific easements due to the weather or the (now aborted) strike, this and this doesn't say much!
If you want to go at 'peak' time my advice is arrive in time for the 1829 and if it's cancelled, I believe they should let you travel on an alternative service and not make you wait until after 1930.

I'd approach staff at Euston and ask. If it is that bad, then it is in LM's interest (as well as yours) to let you travel earlier, than ask you to wait and then have the risk of them having to pay for a taxi to your destination if you miss your connection due to delays. I would expect common sense to prevail, but please do let us know how you get on. Good luck!Yorkie
Thanks for this - I am, of course, worried about the ongoing snow in the midlands and getting from the final station to my folks! Is it likely that the current weather will result in any easing of restrictions?
