Alot of people are saying 'people like these give rail enthusiasts a bad name'. No it doesn't. Also people seem to be stereotyping all drunk people aswell, we're not all the same

At least two of the people in the video should know better as they both claim to be railway staff. Waving your arms in front of a fast approaching train to get the driver to use the horn is the cleverest of ideas. Nuneaton anyone? :roll:

On second thoughts, I don't think we should be so harsh on them. At least 2 of them have mental/social problems of some description (Matt and the MML tw*t). You can probably tell from the way they are acting anyway.

Indeed so Craig. As someone who was there at Nuneaton that day, its some of the daftest things I've seen in a long time.
It's not really fair to diagnose someone with a mental condition based on this one video, although I will completely agree that the behaviour is completely out of order. Some of the people are creating a dangerous situation for driver, passengers and themselves, and I can see some passengers do not like the swearing.
Like liam said ,I would of blasted the horn thru there ear drums then slammed the brakes on and on to the BTP. Its not right they go around shouting and hollaring everywhere. Blowing horns is for little kids!. I like it but not a loud long blast!.

If we were to become drivers though and we seen people waving there arms in front of you, because we would know what they want, why not just give it them, blast the horn a few times and then they'll be ok instead of causing all the hassle of stopping and phoning the BTP etc etc, and plus if they lost there arm then that's there fault, you can't help that.

It's a long complicated story...I was there also but I wasn't "involved", I was just photographing 390s.

Back on topic, 777Fred, I agree with everything that you have been saying in your posts.
Though I must say that I didn't see memorex do anything wrong, at no point was he anyway near the edge of the platform, and I think it'd be nice if you all stopped laying into him. Just because he was there, doesn't mean he was involved. (Like me, rmt, VXCFan and others in Nuneaton...)

Alice, I've never implicated you in anything that went on that day, perhaps we had a difference of opinion on certain things following that, but I was accused of things following the events of that day that weren't even my doing. The main protagonist in the events of that day, has never apologised to me for that day (he hasn't even spoken to me), and as far as I'm concerned, I'll never speak to him again.
I don't normally air my thoughts on events such as this in public, so I apologise to all other readers.

I don't have time to read all this thread, i got to page 4 and that was enough.
If a train passed that close to somebody in an orange vest, i'd back the driver in declaring it a near miss, which is a very serious offence.

look at it this way if mr driver was to get a download and they were to say, why did you use your horn excesively? and he replied spotters to close to the edge of the platform waving theire arms at me, mr manager is going to ask why he has not reported the incident.
in regards to the films there is a very thin line they are on, if like you say two of the people work for a t.o.c, i certainly would not be doing this sort of thing, and having it recorded as well is not a good thing, even they could see they were causing a nuicence with the mml train.
