Had my stage 1 yesterday.
If im honest I was full of nerves and I know I mucked up the high low beeps.
Now we have to wait to find out. Im on the edge of my seat constantly.
Ill have no fingernails left come this time next week.

Tell me about it,I only had the test on Wednesday,left the hotel about 5pm then they rang me up Friday about 4pm.hope you get the good news.

Yipeeee!.....pasted the first stage of stage 2 and had my interview.
6 of us sat the test,1 of us didn't make the interview.nice guy too.
So just sit and wait now.one more stage 2 on 28th I think.

How was the interview? I passed my stage 2 last week but the interviewer was ill so I presume mine will be next week or the week after, been doing a lot of preparation for it on questions that could be asked based on behavioural situations but I'm really nervous about it! Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Those that did stage 1 this week, did you just do Bourdon group, Glop, and Dials testing? The reason i ask is that i applied but having passed the above tests with FGW i did not need to take part.

Unfortunately, I reckon you'll still have to do it, and I'm surprised they let you miss Stage 1. I'm aware of another person on this forum who also had a Stage 1 pass with FGW, but was told he would have to take the new Stage 1 with the TEA-Occ.

HR would probably be the best people to advise you on what to do. Then again, they might totally overlook it...lucky you!

Is it possible HR thought you had a new type Stage 1 pass?

I rang them last monday because i was booked in on thursday to do stage 1, i wanted to clarify whether i needed to do it, they said no, if i had turned up i would of been sent home. However i forgot to ask about the TEA Occ.

Just be careful coz I was invited to stage 1 already having a pass with fgw. They said tht was fine and to call back after they had done stage 2 assessments as I wanted to come straight into dm interview. I spoke the other day to them and they said I nees to do all assessment with them

Don't be nervous mate.the interviewers are nice guys,it's like talking to a friend I found.trust me,no need to be nervous
If you have done some prep then stop now and relax.
It's not that bad trust me.

It's strange, some companies seem to have simple and relaxed DM interviews, and others long, hard grillings!

I'm still waiting for my MMI result from the 7th here. The wait is killing me, lol!

My mind's coming up with all sorts of reasons why I don't know the result yet, (preferred depot choices, lost my result, in the post, busy HR, unsuccessful etc.) but hopefully I'll know something concrete shortly!


Again, I'd like to wish you all the best for your DM outcome (and the wait if needed), lol!

Still nothing just yet. Left hr a message and spoje to them. They said im still in the game and to wait for furthur info regarding dm interview. I knew theyd say that but it feels good to hear it again if u know what I mean. Did u get an email about dm or letter. When is it and good luck

Nope not heard anything yet. If all groups were full with 24 in each that's 96 to mark and then emt to get through. I'm guessing early next week at the earliest.

It is fair to say that unlike other TOCs, while EMT are slow to get moving with the recruitment process, once it gets to the final stages it all tends to happen very quickly indeed - they only have a tiny recruitment department so when they get to the end of the road, they need to move on to the next campaign quite quickly.

I'm finding that checking on this forum is the worst possible thing you can do when waiting for an assessment or interview outcome , yet I keep coming back for more punishment. lol.

The moment someone else hears something and you don't, you panic (me included), lol.

Although I've still not heard back on how I did in the Stage 2 MMI (over 2 weeks ago), I'm staying positive.

I remember waiting nearly 2 months to hear back from my application form, then a month for my Stage 1 pass. I was convinced I'd failed at both of those stages.

I'm wondering if candidates' individual circumstances play into when you hear back about results, such as choice of depot (mine's Nottingham) or notice period (4 weeks for me) in current employment.

I guess all we can do is wait (again) and see.

Hopefully, this week you'll hear good news back about the DM interview, and I'll hear good news back about the MMI. :eek:

I think we will hear either was because they said medicals are next week.

Hi Dynamonic I applied for vacancy for trainee depot driver @EMT last year, unfortunately couldn't attend assessments I contacted HR to explain why with apologies. If successful in assessments and interviews is this the best way of progressing onto fully qualified train driver as I have never seen adverts for trainee train drivers at EMT??

Apparantely so. According to the job description, the Trainee Depot Driver role is aimed at aspiring train drivers. You're right about the adverts, I've never seen an advert for Trainee Train Driver on EMT's website in over two years of watching it. This would appear to be the best way into a Driver's role with EMT.
